Title: The Worst Nightmare

10 year old Alex O'connell was running through the trees of Ahm-Shere. He felt the thorns on the branches prick him on his bare arms, making him bleed. The warm breeze flew past him, as he ran faster and further into the cursed jungle. Turning a corner, he tripped over a stone and fell flat on his face. He was getting weak and didn't think he would be able to get back up. Then he heard the footsteps behind him getting closer. He forced himself up and ran until he ran

into a cave. The cave was pitch dark, he couldn't see where he was going. But he didn't care as long as he was getting further away from - He then saw a torch around the corner. He picked it up and walked cautiously down the tunnels of the cave. It was pretty quiet now........ something wasn't right. He walked in silence. Walking to the next room, he looked around. Nothing. He turned around quickly, hearing something behind him. Sighing, seeing nothing, he leaned against the wall. He screamed as the wall opened and sucked him in.

He was in another room....... it was really dark in there too. With the torch he already had in his hand, he lit the other 3 that were on the wall. He looked around and suddenly realized that a pair of eyes were staring back at him........ no, 2 pairs....... 3 pairs....... He yelled in horror as pygmies chased after him down the tunnels.

Thinking that there was no end, he kept running, hearing the disgusting creatures chasing him from behind. Out of nowhere, one of them jumped on him from on top of the ceiling. He tried to fight it off, but there was no use. Then everything went black.

Alex slowly opened his eyes, and wearily looked around. He then realized he was tied down...... he was tied down to a platform. His hands were tied together in front of him, and his ankles were also. He noticed the platform he was on, was moving. He glanced down and saw 5 pygmy mummies carrying him somewhere. There were about 2 dozen of them around the room, following. He then saw where they were taking him. A couple of yards away was a pit. The direction to the

underworld.

 

"I don't think so." A voice from behind them said. The pygmies and Alex turned around. Rick had entered the room, with guns drawn and ready to fight. He shot the monsters that were carrying his son, making the platform fall to the ground. Dodging and blowing up more pygmies, he made his way over and untied Alex. "There you go, buddy."

Before his son could warn him, one of the creatures snuck up from behind him and stabbed Rick in the back. He gasped, and dropped to the ground......... dead cold.

"NOOO!!!!!" Alex screamed in horror and ran through the tunnels as the pygmies chased him again. He knew he wasn't in the cave anymore...... he had been here before. They were in the Golden Pyramid Of Ahm-Shere. With tears rapidly falling down his face, he ran until he was on the very tippy top of the pyramid, again.

He looked upwards, this time seeing no Izzy. He then looked back down and saw about 20 of the monsters heading towards him. There was only one thing to do. He jumped.

Alex landed in the sand. He lifted his head and spit out most of the dirt. He stood up and looked around him. He was no longer in Ahm-Shere. He was now in a desert. With the hot sun beaming down on him, he walked. He walked until he found a city. He had read about this city in books before. This was Hamunaptra. He then fell into a hole. Looking around, he spotted his Mum playing with some old mirrors.

"And then there was light." She grinned and walked over to him. "Hello, Alex." Suddenly Imhotep appeared out of nowhere and strapped Evy to a table. He lifted a sword above her and said,

"And with your Mother's dead, Ancksanamun shall live!" This time there was no Dad to save her. He heard his Mum scream as the creature

stabbed her in the stomach with the sacred sword. He then turned around and ran again, not believing all this was happening. He ran until he looked up and saw a hole in the ceiling. He lifted himself through it and onto the other side.

He looked around him. He was on Izzy's balloon, along with his Uncle Jon. He looked down and noticed they were above the Nile River.

"Hey, Big Al!" His uncle walked towards him. "Nice day, isnt it old chap?" Alex looked at him like he was crazy and said, "Uncle Jon! We gotta get out of here!!"

Meela jumped out from behind him, grabbed Jonathan by the shirt and flung him over the sides.

"AHHH!!!!" Jon hollered as he went down. Alex heard a crash...... then a splash...... then silence. Meela snickered and started edging her way over to Alex.

"Don't be afraid......"

Suddenly, the balloon started to go down. He hung on to the sides as the balloon twirled and went further down. They finally hit the ground. He untangled himself, and stepped out. They were on a beach....... by the Nile River. He turned around and saw a horse coming towards him. Ardeth Bay was riding.

"Hello, child." Ardeth said to him and jumped off his horse. "What are you doing all the way out here?"

Then, out of the river popped out the furious Scorpion King. He charged at the Medjai and took him in his claw. The scorpion took one look at him and then pulled him apart, sending parts flying.

 

Then, Imhotep appeared out of nowhere, by the King's side. Meela made her way out of the balloon. Pygmies came running out from around the corners. They all made their way towards Alex and cornered him..........

"AHHHH!!!!!!!!" Alex O'connell screamed, as he sat up in his bed. He looked around, making sure he was * really * in his room. He was. Then, Rick, Evy, and Jonathan came dashing into his bedroom and by his side.

"Are you okay?!?!" They asked him, scared.

Alex ran over and hugged them, glad that they were safe and alright.

"Did you have another nightmare?" His mum asked and hugged him back. He didn't answer her.

"We love you, buddy." Rick told him and picked him up. "You can stay in our room."

Alex closed his eyes and fell asleep again....... Starting to dream........

 

 

Author's Note: ok, pls DON'T get mad at me cuz I killed off everybody in this story! But it was just Alex's DREAM. I wouldn't really do that! lol.
