Ardeth Bay stood outside the home of Rick and Evelyn O'Connell. He knocked once and an older Alex about 15 opened the door greeting him.

“Alex who is….” Rick stopped in mid sentence when he saw his old friend Ardeth Bey standing at the door.

“O No there must be trouble,” Alex said.

“I come to ask for a favor,” Ardeth asked in his accent. Soon Evelyn and Jonathan walked down the hallway to where everyone was standing.

“What kind of favor….if this has something to do with mummies…”

“No, no mummies,” Ardeth said cutting off Rick.

“Come in Ardeth,” Evelyn told him walking closer to him. He entered the house and a girl about the same age as Alex walked in behind him. She had on a black robe like Ardeth but no markings on her face, only on her arm. She had a dark mark on her left hand going from her thumb to her pinkie, four lines came out, and that was the symbol for a young Med-jai.  She had black spiral hair, and dark brown eyes,

“You have a kid,” Rick asked looking at her.

“Yeah Ardeth, good going,” Jonathan said but soon stopped when he noticed the glares from his sister and brother-in-law.

“That’s what I come to ask you,” he said pulling the girl in front of him. “You see the Med-jai, my tribe is going to fight, this group that wants Hamunaptra. I don’t want her there is danger…”

“Sure we will keep her here for you, until you come back,” Evelyn said. “Why don’t you eat before you leave?”

They all sat at the table. Evelyn looked at the girl.

“Her name is Mia Bay, that’s what she calls her self,” Ardeth said. He watched as Mia stuffed corn into her mouth.

“God Ardeth do you ever feed her,” Jonathan laughed but stopped when he realized he was the only one laughing at it own jokes.

“Does she talk,” Rick asked, noticing she hasn’t said a word yet.

“She talks, she will talk soon….”

“What happened to your wife,” Eve asked.

“She did giving birth to Mia, I met her after the first time Imhotep came back, then when I found out his body was in England I sent her away,” Ardeth explained.

Father was getting ready to leave, going to back to Hamunaptra. I sat on the couch, just watching him, waiting for him to say something. I was afraid I would never be able to see him again, never to see his face anymore. He knelt down, eye level to me.

“Take me with you,” I whispered, tears forming in my eyes.

“I can’t, you know I can’t,” he said brushing a hair away from my eyes.

“Don’t’ leave me here,” I cried.

“Before you know it I will be back,”

“Please…come back….you have to come back,” I cried knowing my father might never be back, knowing he could die in battle. He picked me up giving me a hug, and then walked outside. He looked back one more time then shut the door behind him.

      2 months later

I sat on the balcony reading a Egyptian book I found in Evelyn’s library is their home, I was waiting for my father to come to get me, waiting for the cab to pull up and his smiling face at the door. Then I spotted something, something weird. I ran down the stares running into Rick.

“Rick look at this,” I said shoving the book into him. He read over page then ran to Evelyn.

“Eve look….the Egyptians make copies of the Book of the Dead….”

Soon I went back up to the balcony in my room. I was told to leave so Rick and Evelyn could talk alone. Alex sat down next to me smiling. Alex and I had been getting along great; Alex would tell me stories of what happened to him and his parents at Hamunaptra.

“He isn’t coming back…is he” I asked Alex who was sitting next to me.

“I don’t know, your guess is as good as mine,”

“He said he will be back, he lied to me,” I cried, folding my arms on the railings, I put my head in my arms and cried. Alex had heard me cry a lot, almost everyday.

“Its is ok, he will be back, he promised,” he said hugging me; we stayed like that until his mother made him leave.

Later that night Mia woke up from a loud banging down stares. She walked down her black robe swaying as she ran down the steps in the large house. She turned on the lights hoping her father had come back, but she saw some men wearing white and black surrounding her. One man who was probably the head commander had something over his face. Mia back up grabbing a umbrella and swinging at one of the men. Soon Rick, Jonathan, Alex and Evelyn came running down the stares.

“Mia what are you doing,” Rick asked then he saw men wearing white and black surrounding Mia.

“You will never see Mia again,” the head commander said.

Rick ran at them kicking one of the men. They grabbed Mia and dragged her out of the house.

“Rick….” But she was gone, they took her away.

“We have to go save her,” Evelyn said.

“No…no way, I am not going back to Hamunaptra, every time we do, something comes back to life,” Rick said pacing around the living room.

“Rick, we promised Ardeth, we would watch her,” Jonathan told him.

“Fine Jonathan and I will go,” Rick told them.

      “Rick…no I am going,”

“Me to,” Alex said as he sat on the couch.

“No Eve, we always go there and you read some book, or something no.”

“No nothing bad ever came from helping out a friend,” Eve said.

“Yeah and you also said nothing bad will come from reading and book and opening a check” Rick stated.

“I won’t read a book, I won’t open a chest, I won’t touch anything, I promise, I just want to help Ardeth,” Evelyn said putting her hands put in defense.

“I can’t believe I am going back to Hamunaptra,” Rick complained as he sat in the little airplane with his son Alex, Jonathan, and Evelyn. Soon the plane landed and the  Med-Ji attacked the plane. Ardeth entered the plane with his weapon. He brought the weapon to someone neck not realizing who it was.

“Rick….Evelyn what are you doing here..” he asked worried.

“Someone captured Mia,” Rick told him.

“And we found out there are more Book of the Dead, they made copies, I think whoever has Mia wants her because she knows where Hamunaptra is,” Evelyn told Ardeth.

“That voice, of the head commander….sounded so familiar,” Rick said as she stepped out of the airplane followed by Alex, Eve and Jonathan.

“Do those men know she is a Med-jai,” Rick asked.

“She doesn’t have markings on her face, only her arm and she had that covered up, she is smart she won’t tell them,” Ardeth explained,  “We must go to Hamunaptra.” He jumped onto his horse; he gave a horse to Rick, one to Eve and Alex to ride together and one to Jonathan.

“This is much better than a camel,” Jonathan said.

The journey was long, but soon the five of them made it to Hamunaptra, they sat on their horses, on a clift, watching the mystery men set a camp fire; Mia sat down near the fire two guards on either side of her. Jonathan saw something in the sand he got off of his horse and walked over to it, soon he found him self surrounded by the mysterious men.

      “Kill him,” yelled a man.

“No, no I know my way around Hamunaptra,”

“He can help us, bring him to where the girl is,” said a man.

“Where did Jonathan go,” Rick asked.

“There,” Alex yelled pointed down to Hamunaptra. They saw Jonathan being lead to the fire where Mia was.

“He can keep a watch out for her,” Ardeth.

“Are we going to get Mia back,” Alex asked. Everyone turned to him; they all knew he liked her.

      “Live today…fight tomorrow,”

*         *          *

The men threw Jonathan into the sand next to me.

“Jonathan what are you doing here,” I cried.

“Got caught, old mum,” he said.

“My father, where is he,” I whispered.

He nodded up toward the hill where they all sat on their horses. I looked over at them

      “He is alive,”

Night fell over Hamunaptra. I sat close to Jonathan incase anything happened.

      “Mia?” Jonathan whispered.

“Yeah I am a wake?” I said getting up

      “Why do they want you?”

“ They want to kill my father then the Med-Jai army will crumble, they don’t know I am a Med-Jai,  they want to raise Imhotep.  They have copies of the Book of the Dead. They say they will sacrifice me and you.” I whispered to him.

“Bloody hell, you father better get here tomorrow,”

“Get up,” one of the men yelled as he pulled Jonathan and I up.

“O right, o right I am up,” Jonathan said as he pulled his arm away from the man. They lead Jonathan and me into the ruins of Hamunaptra. They pushed us into a large room, where Imhotep was killed the first time Jonathan came to Hamunaptra. The man had the book and the key.

“Why is he going to read if they don’t have the body,” I asked.

“They can raise his sprit and then the sprit will go into the head commander,” Jonathan said. Then Jonathan and I saw the key in the head commanders pocket in his long white robe.

“I can get the key. Alex thought me how to pick-pockets. Jonathan distract everyone,” I said as I slipped away toward the head commander. Jonathan started yelling and screaming, men ran over to him looking at him like he had gone mad. I ran over to the head commander and ran into him.

“Where is my father, what did you do to him,” I yelled and I pulled out the key. He pushed me away and I slammed into the wall hitting my head, I slipped the key in a pocket my in blacks robe. I touched the back of my head, blood. Jonathan ran over grabbing me as we started to run. Soon we lost the men and the head commander

“Wait a minute do you hear that,” I said grabbing Jonathan’s arm to make him stop walking.

      “No,”

Then we turned the corner bumping into someone. Jonathan and I screamed, which caused the people to scream. A man stepped forward with his torch. It was Rick. He put his gun down, so did Eve, Alex and Ardeth.

“Father,” I yelled and ran over to him giving him a hug. “I missed you,”

“You guys got out easy,” Eve said.

“Yeah a little two easy…” Rick started to say.

Then we heard the head commander’s voice yelling to get us.

“I know that voice….” Rick said

“Come on we will go back to the camp sight with the other Med-Jai, they won’t attack us there,” my father said. We ran out of Hamunaptra, I looked back hoping I would never have to go back. I sat on the horse with my father. I didn’t want to leave his side. We finally made it to the camp. The Med-jai people look at Eve, Rick, Jonathan and Alex, new strangers.

Soon night fell over the Med-Jai camp. We all sat by the fire. I sat next to Alex on one side, Jonathan next to my father across from us and Rick and Eve to the left of us. We where sitting around eating bread.

“I can’t believe this is happening,” I said.

“Me either I don’t believe in curses,” Alex told everyone. Then a gust of wind blew the fire.

“That happens a lot when we are here,” Jonathan stated.

Beni,” Rick said all of a sudden.

      “What” I asked.

Beni, he is the head commander,” Rick told us all.

“How Beni died when Hamunaptra went into the ground,” Eve said staring at her husband.

“He was brought back to life,” I said.

      “How,” Alex asked.

“The same way Imhotep came back,” my father said.

“Those people must of found the book and key and brought Beni back to life because he was Imhotep’s slave, then when they bring Imhtoep sprit back he will go into Beni body making him immortal.” Jonathan explained.

“So why did they want Mia,” Alex asked.

“I heard them say they wanted to kill the Med-jai leader then the whole Med-jai would collapse, so by bring me here they knew Rick and Eve would show up and so would my father,” I explained.

“Do they know you’re a Med-Jai,” my father asked me staring into my dark brown eyes.

      “No,”

      “Now what,” Eve asked.

“We need to find The Book of Amen-Ra to destroy him,” Rick said.

“Where is that at” asked Alex.

      Beni doesn’t have it….”

“So we need to find it,” Rick said.

“How did you get the key Mia,” Ardeth asked.

“I pick-pocketed it from Beni, Alex taught me how…” I laughed

Soon Alex and I wondered off from everyone around the fire. We sat on the sand, I could feel my fathers eye on me, from where he sat at the camp fire.

“I forgot how warm the desert nights are,” I said, “London was to wet,”

“Yeah I like being here better than London….I wish I could live here forever,” he laughed. He put his arm around me and I got closer to him.

*          *          *

“I have a feelings Mia and Alex with get married….I don’t know why” Rick said, “It is a weird feeling.”

“I feel it to,” Ardeth said.

“I thought a Med-Jai can’t marry an outsider,” Jonathan asked.

“Yes that is true but Rick has Med-Jai blood…so does Alex,” Ardeth explained.

“That would be good for him, if he marries her, Mia will straighten him up,” Eve laughed.

“Yes, when she was younger she would beat all the boys up, rumor around camp was that Mia would be the next leader, but she can not she is a girl, I am hoping when Mia marries she will have a boy to take my place,” Ardeth explained.

*         *       *

Alex and I sat there until we heard the sound of horses on the desert sand. We both stood up, he was holding my hand. I looked at my father, he also stood up when he saw the fear in my eyes.

“Alex, Mia come here now,” my father said. He pulled out his sword and gave me one.

“Here son,” Rick said throwing Alex a gun.

“They are probably here for the key,” I heard Jonathan say.

“What should I do with it,” I yelled.

“Keep it with you,” my father yelled as the men that where after the key jumped over the sand dune. They stopped in front of us.

“We don’t want to fight, we want the key,” the head commander said. Rick walked over to him and pulled him off of his horse. The men pulled out their guns. He pulled off the mask and saw Beni skinny face.

“Well if it isn’t my buddy Beni, what are you doing, are you trying to get your mummy friend back,” Rick said as he threw Beni away from him.

“I want the key….we will give you two days to give it to us, if you don’t we will come and kill Mia,” he said, as he pointed to me my father pushed me behind him.

Then his men and him road off into the dark night.

Soon everyone was sleeping around the fire. Rick was talking to my father.

“I am going to send Mia back to London, Alex should go back to,” my father said. Even thought I didn’t like what he was saying, I still wanted to hear his native accent. I lost my native accent because I was never around him for a long time. Alex said he could hear me picking up a England accent.

“I don’t think you should, you should let her stay, your always sending her away,” Rick said defending me.

“But I do not want her to get hurt,” Ardeth said.

“When you die she will be here without you, how is she going to defend herself, if you always send her away. I think you should let her stay, she will be save with, you, me, Eve, Alex and Jonathan around to watch her.”

“Ok, I will keep her here,”

Rick noticed I was awake a winked at me. I smiled at him and mouth “thank you” to him.

“Aredth why did you leave Mia with us,” Rick asked my father.

“My tribe was fighting a group, but we killed them all a few days before you arrived,” He explained. “I was getting ready to come back to London to get Mia but I found you first.”

“I am glad I got to see you again….I was wondering what happened to you,”

“I wanted to come to London sooner, and bring Mia so you can meet her, but I could not make my self leave this place, something was holding me back,” my father explained, he seemed worried.

      “That’s odd,” Rick said.

“Well we better get some sleep, good night my friend,”

“Good night,” Rick said getting into his sleeping bad. Soon day would come and our journey would begin.

I got up the next morning before anyone else. I sat on a sand dune close to the fire. I wanted to watch the sunrise; the desert sunrise was nothing like London’s. Then I felt someone sit next to me.

“Morning,” Alex said. I didn’t say anything. I could feel his eyes on me. “Do you remember your mother,” he suddenly asked.

“No, she died when giving birth to me,” I told him. “I was told by the Med-Jai that I look like her, father said I have her eyes and long curly black hair. He said I got her smile. He alwayed loved her smile.”

“How did Ardeth meet your mom,” Alex asked.

“He said he met her at our camp a little father down, where all the women, children and men who aren’t fighting stay. He said it was love at first sight,” I explained.

“Do you believe in love at first sight?”

“Yes,” I said as I blushed. I look at Alex. His eyes fell on my lips. He leaned in, so did I.

“Get a room,” Jonathan said before Alex and I could kiss.

Soon everyone was up, Rick and my father where getting guns, and swords together.

“Are we going to battle again,” Eve asked as she walked over to us.

“Where are we going,” I asked.

“We are going  to the Museum of Antiqulities" Eve said.

      “Why,” I asked.

“The Egyptian book you where reading said were the copies of the Book Of the Dead where….so we need to go to the museum and find the Egyptian book that says where the book of The Book of Amen-Ra,”  Rick said as he put a gun in his gun holders.

“Then we are going to Hamunaptra, to destroy Beni, so he can not unleash the creature we feared for more than 3,000 years back to life,” my father said, anger in his voice. Rick threw his son a gun, and threw me one to.

“I can not shot, I don’t know how,” I told him as I held the gun.

“Just point and shot,” Rick instructed. I looked at my father then we both looked at Rick.

“What,” he asked. We shoke our head then Rick and my father went back to what they where doing.

We finally made it to the Museum of Antiquities . I followed behind Eve, Rick and my father, his black robe swaying in the wind as he ran up the stares. We came to the libaray.

“The Book is called the secrets of Amen-Ra,” Eve said as everyone started to look through books.

“I don’t get why they want to raise him again,” I asked sitting down in a chair throwing the key up and catching it.

“Because Beni wants power, so he wants to raise Imhotep, and they will take over the world,” Alex explained.

“Mia stop playing with that,” Eve yelled at me. My father glared at me and I put the key back in my pocket of my black robe.

I started to get bored, there where a million of book, and they weren’t in order. So I decided to look around the museum. I entered one room that had ancient artifacts of the Med-Jai. I looked at a statue of a fake Med-jai he had the Med-jai markings and the sword. Then I heard footsteps behind me. I grabbed the sword from the fake Med-jai and became to walk around some more. I tuned to look at something else when I felt someone hands on my shoulder. They spun me around and I stared into the eyes of Beni and his men.

“It is a surprise to see you here,” Beni said. I began to back up as Beni inched closer to me.  “The key,”

“No,” I snapped. His face became angry. I backed into something and it came crashing down to the ground making a loud noise that echoed throughout the museum. Beni grabbed me but I pushed him away, then one of his men ran at me, I slashed him with the sword and he fell to the ground holding his arm. Then I took off running knocking things to the ground, hoping my father and everyone else would hear it.

*        *        *

Ardeth turned around taking a break from looking at the books. He didn’t see his daughter anywhere.

      “Where is Mia,” he asked.

“I got it,” Jonathan said holding up the book, and then everyone heard a crash in the distance.

“I bet that’s where Mia is, come on,” Rick said taking out his gun.

*       *        *

I kept running, hoping to lose the men and Beni. Then I ran into someone. Their hands went to my shoulders to stop me from falling. I started to kick the person but he was to strong.

“Mia, it is me,” I head the familiar native accent. The I noticed Eve, Jonathan, Alex and Rick standing next to my father.

Beni followed us here,” I gasped.

Then I saw Beni and his men, they stopped dead in their tracks when they noticed guns pointed at them. My father pushed me behind him, protecting me from harm.

“We will be back O’Connell, and we will get you Mia and the key,” Beni yelled, and him and his men ran out of the Museum.

“What does it say,” I asked leaning over Eve. Beni and his men had run out of the Museum scared when they saw everyone pointing guns at them. I stood over Eve’s shoulder looking at the book. My father and Alex where guarding the door, making sure no one came in, they where also talking.  Jonathan was passing around the room until Rick stopped him.

“You’re wearing the floor out,” Rick said. So Jonathan stopped and moved a step to the left and started pacing again.

“I got it The Book of Amen-Ra is in a passage way, the place where Imhotep sprit was taken away, where he tried to sacrifice me, there is a passage there, where the book is kept.” She finally said.

“Ok, then we must hurry, before someone else finds the book,” my father said, so then it began the journey that will change my life forever.

I looked over the horizon at Hamunaptra, we where back, the place I never wanted to see again. I was sitting on the horse with Alex, he could feel me shaking.

“It is ok Mia, I won’t let anything bad happen to you,” he said trying to comfort me.

“Ok Mia and Alex stay close to Rick and I,” my father told me eyeing me, he new I like to wonder off sometimes.

We tied our horses to a poll and started our journey inside Hamunaptra to find the Book of Amen-ra. We made our way down a dark hall-way. Rick was leading the way with a torch, and I was standing next to him. Then we head the sound of bugs. I turned around bumping into Alex.

      “What was that,” I asked.

      “Bugs,” Alex told me.

Then a dirt patch opened up and million of Scarabs came flooding out toward us. Of course I never seen anything like this and didn’t know they where flesh eaters.

“Come on Mia,” Alex said pulling my hand. The Scarabs where right at my feet. Alex, Jonathan and I went down a different hallway getting separated from everyone else. Still the Scarabs where after us. We jumped onto a platform and the bugs rushed past us like water.

      “O no,” I said.

      “What,” asked Jonathan.

“Out of Rick, and my father, we where stuck with you,” I joked. Jonathan began to laugh then stopped when he realized I had just made fun of him.

      “Hey…”

“Come on lets go find the others,” I said jumping off of the platform.

“We are lost,” I said as Jonathan, Alex and I leaned against the wall.

“No we are not,” Alex said.

“Then how come I am not with my father, how many times have you guys been here, twice and you still don’t know your way around,” I yelled. Then the wall we where leaning against giveaway and all three of us fell on the ground, then we began sliding down, it was like we where on a slide.

*       *       *

“Do you hear that noise,” Rick asked. Ardeth, Eve and Rick had made it to where Imhotep had been killed the first time but they still couldn’t find the secret passage. Ardeth pulled out his sword and Rick pulled out his gun. Then were the where facing the wall opened up like a door and three screaming people flew out.

“Mia, Alex, Jonathan what happened,” Eve asked shocked.

“Scarabs, split up, door, slide, you,” Jonathan tried to spit out.

“Help us find the room with the book,” Rick told the three people lying on the ground. Ardeth went over and helped his daughter up.

“Stay close to me,” he hissed. She never seem him this mad before.

*       *       *

We walked deep into the city of Hamunaptra. A slab was in the center of the room. A staircase, led to a wall.

“How come there is a staircase leading to a wall.” I asked my self.

I started to walk to a section of rocks. They where tablets with Egyptian writing on it. The tablets talked about Mummification. The tablets weren’t that big about the same height has me. I touched one and they all fell over, a chain reaction, like dominions.  It made a loud noise and echoed through the room.  (Think of in the Mummy when Eve knocked the book shelves over)

“Mia stop fooling around,” Rick yelled, he was more like a father that someone my father knew. Then I came to another way, it had pictures of Egypt. Then I noticed  a shape of a star on the wall.

“The key,” I whispered. I pulled the key out and  wrapped my figures around the edge, the way Alex had showed me how around the camp fire. It opened up and I saw the star shape. I put it the whole and turned it. I heard rattling. The walls shoke and I fell to the ground. Little rocks started to fall to the ground. Rick and my father turned to look at me.

      “Ops” I said.

“What did you do,” Rick yelled but soon stopped when he saw the wall where the staircase leads to open up.

I pulled the key out and put it back in my pocket.

“Stay there,” my father instructed me.

Rick and my father entered the secret room, then game out with the copy of the Book of Amen-ra. Then I felt someone behind me, before I could turn around they put a sword to my neck when I screamed.

Rick, Jonathan, Eve, Alex and my father rushed over.

“Let the girl go,” my father yelled.

      “No, the book,” Beni asked.

Eve put the book behind her back. Beni drew the blade closer to my skin, I felt the cold blade against my neck, I let a painful cry. I saw my father’s eye lit up in horror. He tried to go after me but Rick stopped him.

“The book or she dies,” Beni laughed, his voice hurt my ears, I couldn’t stand his voice. Eve looked at my father and he nodded. She bent down and slid the book over to him.

“The key,” Beni asked. He didn’t know I had the key with me.

“We don’t have it, now let her go you go the book,” Rick yelled.

“No,” Beni snapped bring the blade closer to my neck and drawing blood. I cried out again and my father tried to run at me but Beni’s men pulled their swords out and blocked him from Beni and I. I saw Alex creep around the side, where no one could see him.

“Kill them all,” Beni yelled at his men, they inched closer. Soon my father, Rick and Jonathan started fighting Beni’s men. Alex ran at Beni knocking both of us down. I got up and threw the key at Eve. She opened the box up and put the key in the book. Soon it opened and she was searching for the key. I saw Beni trying to get away. I saw a big stone and grabbed it and threw it at Beni, knocking him to the ground. I saw Rick go over to him, picked him up and started yelling things at her. Then I turned to Eve, she was trying to find the passage, then one of Beni’s men attacked her. She slid the book to me.

“Read it,” she yelled as she tried to fight off the man.

“I can’t read it that good” I yelled.

“Just read it,” she yelled as she kicked at the man,

I ran to a corner so I wouldn’t be attacked.

"Rashi moulo kashka tochim…” I yelled but got stuck on the last word. Then one of Beni’s men grabbed me and the book went sliding away from me.

“Get the book,” I heard Beni yell. I went running toward it but Beni’s men surrounded me. I looked for help, but my father and Rick where fighting men, so was Eve, Jonathan and Alex. I saw Ricks bag near by and pulled out dynamite. I also pulled out a match and  soon the dynamite was lite. I  showed I to Beni’s men. They ran off afraid of the fire. I pulled off of the end and threw it away. Then I ran over to the book, picked it up and started to read it again.

"Rashi moulo kashka tochim…”  I yelled but stopped I still didn’t know the last symbol.

“I can’t figure this last symbol out,” I yelled.

“What does it look like,” Jonathan yelled as he helped Eve out I saw Rick and my father fighting off more of his Beni’s men,

      “A bird…..a stork….” I yelled.

“Amelophous!" Eve and Jonathan both yelled.

      “O yes now I see…” I said

      “Mia hurry,” Alex yelled.

“Rashi moulo kashka tochim Amelophous!" Then Beni screamed, and his body dispersed, but his soul went under the ground to hell.

My father rushed over and touched my neck, it was still bleeding. He closed the book, and threw both books into the water. Then he put the key in his pocket.

“Lets get out of here,” Rick said, as he checked on his wife and Alex. We ran out of Hamunaptra, I didn’t know why until later. Rick, Eve and Jonathan didn’t want to get stuck like they almost did when Hamunaptra went under ground. But it never did, when we went to our horses Hamunaptra was still standing.

My father got up on his horse.

“Mia and I will be heading back to camp,” he said.

“Yes we will be heading back to London now, it was great seeing you again, and meeting you Mia, hopefully next time you just come for a visit,” Rick laughed as he jumped up on the horse, Eve got on with him.  I looked at Alex.

“Will I ever see you again,” I asked him looking up into his eyes.

“You can count on it…I will be waiting for you” he said and he leaned in to kiss me on the check. Then he mounted up on his horse, Jonathan sat on the horses next to him. My father gave me his hand and helped me up with him. Then we felt a gust of wind blow through our hair, making our robes sway like a flag.

My father pulled out his sword and Rick pulled out his gun. There high in the sky was Imhotep’s sprit.

“You might have beaten us this time, but soon I will be released again…because Death is only the Beginning….” Then his sprit dispersed into Hamunaptra and the city started to go under the sand. Soon after the clouds of dust dispersed we saw nothing, only sand, for miles. But all we could hear was Imhotep’s last words.

      “Death is only the Beginning…”
