                 4 Unique Xmas Cards 4 U 2 Buy

At the Skerries Sea Scouts we have something really unique  4 U this year. It started in September , when the Parents & Friends Team asked Sea Scouts Leaders to get their members to draw  pictures depicting Christmas. Mountains of wonderful pictures flooded in. With much effort we managed to pick 4 drawings (true works of art) to appear on our Christmas Cards.

Congratulations to the winners, well done indeed. The cards will be on sale during November in selected shops around Skerries, The Skerries Bookshop and Fun to Learn, to name but two, through your leaders and    from the Parents & Friends Team ( their names and numbers are listed at the bottom of this page). Each bundle of 10 cards will have an assortment of images. The funds raised will contribute to the costs of organising the many events engaged in by 50 leaders and 350 Sea Scouts every week here in Skerries.

The Parents & Friends Team is part of the Skerries Sea Scouts and its focus is that of raising funds. The current team consists of the following pillars of the community: Paul Delemere, Michael Daly, Helen Carroll, Sylvia Alcock, David West, Eileen Gilmore, Ernestine Woelger-Ryan, and Karen Wilson. John Sisk as Chairman, has the task of co-ordinating the work of this team, a role which he describes as simplicity itself, given the high octane levels of enthusiasm evident at all meetings. Last year this team raised over IR 2,200 which is a lot of money, and it's all thanks to your support. A very special and sincere thanks you to all the business enterprises and individuals that support the Parents & Friends Team each year. Without your generous financial and pragmatic assistance the fund raising task would be impossible to accomplish.

October to December is a particularly exciting time for the Parents & Friends Team. Starting last month, the Marian Musical & Dramatic Society generously donated their first night of the play Deathtrap. November sees the launch of the 2001 Christmas Card Collection,  Sunday November 18th saw a very successful Bazaar in the Sailing Club. Friday December 7th, plays host to the gala event that is the Christmas Table Quiz at the Rugby Club. This is a "must book a table" event, anyone that has been good enough to come along in recent times will appreciate the value of booking a table. Christmas cards can be bought, Quiz Tables can be booked by contacting us through the e-mail facility on the home page.
