This is my car in action. This autocross happened on Sunday March 11, 2001. It was a little cold, but it was above freezing, so we had fun. This was the second autocross I ran this year. The first was the previous week, but I don't have any pictures. I ran very well at this event, about fourth or fifth fastest. Out of about 15 or 20 cars I'm not complaining.
This was an 'informal rally'. Not enough people showed up to warrent running the scheduled rally, so we ('91 Trecel, '94(?) 4x4 Ranger and myself) decided to have fun on our own. As you can see, some of the stones went airborne and killed one of my lights. We had a ton of fun on this rally, 'cause we just played follow the leader and were able to find some really good 'rally turn' roads.
This was before the 'accident', the rest of the pics here are after.
The Neon section
My Neon is almost completely stock. However, I've done these things to it: 1) Clarion am/fm/CD with the stock 6 speakers. This made a huge difference in the radio sound quality and the added bonus of being able play CDs. I have been contiually amazed at how much bass the stock speakers can put out, though no match for a 10in sub. 2) Fog lights on anytime. From the factory, the fogs only turn on with the low beams. However, with some minor wiring, you can rig them to come on any time the ignition is on. With no electrical experience, this took me about 15 min. 3) Defrost - A/C defeat. In stock form, the a/c comes on whenever you put the selector is put on defrost. This is very annoying, because the a/c bogs the engine quite noticably. Again, this took me about 15 to 25 mins.
I have also changed the wheels to 15in Koeing Caffeine wrapped in Kumho Ecsta tires (195/55R15). These are a vast improvement over the old Uniroyal Tigerpaws on 14s.

- I can see you!! hahahaha
Even though you cannot see it well here the neon has too much body roll for my taste. At this autocross one of my good friends brought his old bodystyle Cavilier with him. This thing's got some good springs on it. He was able to go 'round the track really hard with next to no roll. looks like that may be on the "To get" list.
