I have friends, who's daughter, Sidney, has two types of Cerebal Palsy. These are explained on her web site I have listed below her picture. Sidney attends school in Rappahannock County and is a very intelligent girl.She is 7 years old and has dreams just like any other child her age, with the exception of CP. She tells jokes, her favorite is knock knock , loves to pull pranks on people and cook up her own recipes.
The reason for me starting this page is to get out there to people and let them know of her trials dealing with everyday life and how she persevers with the help of friends, family, and the donations of others. Its not very often she doesn't have a big, beautiful smile on her face. I hope that my efforts are rewarded with some donations to her CP Fund. The fund was set up to help with the expense of all the equipment she needs as she outgrows it. Since Sidney can't ride a regular bike, she had to have one specially made for her. The expense of which was outrageous, hence the fund.
Recently Sidney had a pump for medication surgically inserted into her abdomen to regulate the meds she needs for her tone and muscle relaxation.
I have 4 children of my own, 11 grand kids, and I am thankful everyday they were born healthy. I have known her Mom, Shelly, since she was 12. She grew up with my children. I have helped with Sidneys for 5 years now, and I know of the care that goes with a handicapped child. And for people so young to have so much to deal with everyday, Shelly and Greg always try thier best to keep a smile on Sideny's face. Whether it has to do with Sidney's therapy, school, her illnesses, or just a simple trip to get ice cream, they never fail to make thier daughter smile.
Sidney is returning to Georgia this Feburary for more therapy. Using the methods from Euromed (link provided) including the Adeli Suit. For more information on this method I have included a link to the Allternative Gym.
