GAY SKINHEAD PRIDE

There are two kinds of Gay Skinhead. The first is not a Skinhead at all, he or she is someone who wears the clobber but has no idea of what it means to be a Skin. To these people it is just another fashion, a  style of dress with no more meaning than the last fashion they followed. To some gay men it is a Sex thing like leather or dressing in uniform. These people are not Skinheads and I have no time for them. Then there is a second type of Skinhead. He or she is some one who is a Skinhead for all the right reasons. They love the music, they have pride in themselves and their background and Skinhead is their life. They are also gay. I am one of the latter. I am a Skinhead proud and true and I am gay. For me there is no contradiction in that. I have been a Skinhead for many years. Far longer than most of the bigots who criticize and reject Gay Skinheads. Gay is who I sleep with. Skinhead is my way of life. Why should who I sleep with affect the music I listen to, the places I go or the people I call blood? Don't get me wrong I am proud of my sexuality and I do not hide it but unless I am challenged and I have to defend myself then to most people I am just another Skinhead. I think like a Skinhead. I act like a Skinhead. I fight like a Skinhead. I dance like a Skinhead. I am a Skinhead.
