Their story: The band originally started in '93 as a tribute band known then as Divine Madness, put together by a would-be entrapeneur and we were playing lots of Madness. Unfortunately the guy did not know too much about the Ska scene , so the band really had to come up with other covers. We were playing music by The Specials/The Beat/Madness/The Selecter and so on with some early originals thrown in. After a break in mid '94 I reformed the band with a few new players and re-named the band Ska-men Lawrence after our then premier Carmen Lawrence. After a year or so we dropped the Lawrence bit & became as we are known today "Ska-men". Some career highlights..... .Going live-to-air on statewide ABC radio show. .Support band for Pete and THE PORKERS .Headline band for Bob Marley Outernational Day .Inclusion on international compilation ska cd --"Welcome to Planet Ska". .Playing before 16,700 people as pre-match entertainment for Perth Glory F.C. .Debut cd launch for the band .Gaining sponsorship from Dr. Martens .Several radio interviews....and so on. Only one CD release so far---"Skandal Street"
