| Sun Valley, Idaho is famous for skating and it just so happens that I only live 4 1/2 hours from there. I am lucky to live where I do. Summer skating in Sun Valley is unparalleled. And if you are looking to hob nob with the skating elite, there is no better place to be. Sonja Henie was the first of the stars to skate in Sun Valley and in 2002 the Canadian and Russian pairs took to the ice as well as Sasha Cohen and Irina Slutskaya. It is not uncommon to brush elbows with the skating stars or to catch one of their practices. Sun Valley has a year round outdoor arena and I never fail to enjoy skating outside in the summer. Since Jackson, WY does not have ice in the summer I visit Sun Valley as often as possible. It is a beautiful and peaceful place and I never have to pressure my husband to go for a weekend. |
