Home Club Membership: This membership includes the following: membership in United States Figure Skating (USFS), a one-year subscription to Skating magazine, full test and competition privileges with the Skating Club of Worcester, Inc. (SCOW) and the New England Inter Club Council (NEICC), eligibility for participation in USFS sanctioned events including the annual exhibition, eligibility for a competitve skater's subsidy, and voting privileges (if over 18 years of age). Parents of members will also be regisitered if member is under 18 years of age. Preference is given to Home Club members when contracting ice and when applying for test sesions offered by the (SCOW). Family Home Club Membership:This membership is available when more than one family member (child or parent) applies for annual Home Club Membership in the SCOW. This membership provides the same privileges as Home Club Membership. Junior Club Membership: Junior Club members are skaters that are in the process of learning the basic skills of figure skating. To qualify for this membership, the skater must not have passed any USFS Moves in the Field and/or Freestyle test higher than the PrePreliminary level. Skaters may only remail a Junior Club member for a maximum of two years. This membership provides the same privileges as the Home Club Membership with the following exceptions: Junior Club members may be eliible to perform in the annual exhibition hosted by the SCOW. Preference is given to Junior Club members when contracting ice and when applying for test sessions offered by the SCOW. Collegiate Home Club Membership: This membership allows any full-time college/university student who maintains the SCOW as their home club the same privileges as the Home Club Membership. Non Home Club Membership: This membership allows skaters from other USFS clubs to skate on SCOW ice, subject to availability and ice reservation guidelines. Non Home Club members are current members of USFS through a USFS member home club other than the SCOW. Non Home Club members may contract ice with the SCOW. Non Home Club members are ony eligible to perform in the annual exhibition hosted by the SCOW by majority vote of the Board of Governors for hte SCOW. Non Home Club applicants must include with hteir membership application and fee, proo of current membership with USFS (i.e. copy of USFS membership card). Non Home Club members are encouraged to volunteer a minimum of five hours of service during the annual Worcester Open, a three-day competition held in late March or early April hosted by the SCOW. Professional Home Club Membership: This membership is for professionals in the sport of figure skating that are current members of the Professional Skaters Association (PSA) and wish to be a member of the USFS through the SCOW. Professional Home Club members are eligible for full test and competition privileges with the SCOW and NEICC, eligibility for participation in USFS sanctioned competitions, exhibitions, test sessions, and other events, and participation in all SCOW sponsored events, including the annual exhibition. Professional Home Club members will receive a USFS rulebook and a one-year subscription to Skating magazine. Professional Home Club applicants must include with their membership application and fee, a copy of their Certificate of Insurance and proff of current membership with the PSA (i.e. copy of PSA membership card). Professional Home Club members are required to provide a minimum of five hours of service during the annual Worcetster Open. Professional Non Home Club Membership: This membership is for professionals in the sport of figure skating that are current members of the PSA and current members of USFS through a USFS member home club other than the SCOW. Professional Non Home Club applicatns must include with their membership application and fee, a copy of their Certificate of Insurance and proof of current membership with the PSA (i.e. copy of PSA membership card) and proof of current membership with USFS (i.e. copy of USFS membership card). Professional Non Home Club members are encouraged to volunteer a minimum of five hours of service during the annual Worcester Open. |
