| Ashleigh was in the room alone. Everyone else was in the diner eating or talking. She just needed some sleep. The stupid fumes from the paint had gotten to her. All of a sudden the phone rang and she answered it. �Hello?� She said. �Baby doll?� The voice asked. �What? I think you have the wrong number.� Ashleigh said. �Oh now I have the right number.� The voice said. �This is room 17.� Ashleigh said. �Yes I have the right number.� The voice said it sounded like a guy. �Ok what do you want?� Ashleigh asked. �Well I want to kill you, and all your friends too. I like college girls and I love hearing them scream when a knife is propelled into their back.� The guy said. �You�re a sick asshole good bye.� Ashleigh said her voice shaking. �I�m going to get you and then I�m going to kill you.� The guy said and he hung up. Ash was so scared she forgot all about her headache. That exact saying was on the mirror in Laura�s bathroom. Ashleigh jumped up and put all of her stuff in her bag. Then she ran out of the room and straight to the diner. She was out of breath and she ran straight to the booth where everyone was sitting. �Oh my god, you guys he�s going to kill us.� Ashleigh said. �Who? Calm down Ash.� Laura said. �The guy who wrote that message on you bathroom mirror.� Ashleigh said trying to catch her breath. �What are you talking about?� Danny asked. �He called my room and said he was going to kill us all one by one.� Ashleigh said. �Ash calm down it was probably just a prank�� Jose said. �No it wasn�t!� Ashleigh yelled. �OK let�s get you back to the room and let you sleep.� Jose said. �I�m not going back there, I refuse to. I�m leaving and I�m getting out of this town.� Ashleigh said. �Ok we will, we will leave in the morning.� Dale said. �NO! NOW!� Ashleigh said. �Ashleigh the car might not be done.� Dale said. �Don�t you guys see? He sabotaged the car on purpose she it will be easier to kill us!� Ashleigh said and by then the few people that were in the diner was staring. �Ashleigh, you just had a bad nightmare.� Jose said. �No I didn�t. I�m getting out. And i'm getting out now!� Ash said. �Ok�ok�ok.� Laura said. �Weather or not you guys are coming, I�m going to leave.� Ashleigh said. �And how are you going to do that?� Ashley asked �I�ll find a way.� Ashleigh said. �Ok� we will go over to the mechanics now and see how much more of the car needs to be worked on.� Dale said. Ashleigh and everyone else agreed and they all left the diner. First they went to their rooms. When they got into the room Jose saw a balloon animal. So Ashleigh wouldn�t freak out he tried to hide it. But Ashleigh caught a glimpse of it and screamed. �See? See? What did I tell you?� Ashleigh said. �Ashleigh calm down.� Jose said. She was shaking like crazy. Not only did she hate clowns but also she hated to think of a knife being propelled into her back. She shivered and grabbed her stuff. They all met out side and then headed to the mechanics. �I�m sorry but I need about one more hour.� The mechanic said. �Look we will pay you extra if you work faster.� Ashleigh said. �Ok, give me half an hour and it will be ready.� He said. �Ok.� Ashleigh said. �Pay extra?� Laura asked. �I want out of here.� Ashleigh said. Laura pulled her over to the side of the building. �Ashleigh exactly what did he say that spooked you so much? I mean you are kind of cheap some thing really bad must have happened.� Laura asked. Ashleigh took a deep breath. �He said he likes to hear college girls scream when a knife is propelled into their back.� Ashleigh said. Laura shivered and they walked back over to the group. The car was finally finished and Ashleigh was relived to get out of the town. She actually lost her headache in the entire jumble. She slept soundlessly on Jose�s broad shoulders. While everyone was talking they could only discuss one thing, the summer that was ahead of them. Now that they were out of the town everything was going to be fine. Or so they thought. |
