How to make the best Water Rocket
Ok now then I am going to teach you to become a pro amateur by discribing to you how to make a water rocket ok.

#1 First I am going to teach you to make pro fins.  You need to get a piece of art board and cut 3 to 4 fins (I like 4 fins) by cutting two 2 1/2 inch by 4 inch rectangles.  Then take a ruler and draw a line from one corner to the opposite corner of the rectangle.  Cut on that line with a straight edge if you don't have one then scissors will work just fine.  do this to both rectangles.  If you did it right then you should have four equal triangle fins.  Set them aside for later.

Next, you will want to have some kind of nose cone.  I prefer plastic but if you do not want a plastic one than do not follow these instructions.

#2 Take another bottle and cut the top off of it (the neck end of it).  In addition, put some clay in the top and place it on top of your bottle.  Seal off the top with a bottle cap.  If you are lost and need some help then go here for a visual of what it looks like
www.geocities.com/skaterboy_46/Simplebottle.gif The little brown cylinder represents the parachute.

Now then, you should have most of your rocket done by now.  The next part is about fin placement.

#3 You will want to have straight fins on your rocket so measure the circumference of the bottle and divide by four for 4 fins and by three for 3 fins.  Then use a low tempature hot glue gun to glue them on.  If you dont have this then, use some kind of wood glue or at least some kind of glue that will dry very hard.  Duct tape also works.

If you want a parachute to help slow down your rocket then cut a 3 feet by 3 feet square out of a thin trashbag, gather up the corners one by oneand tie a piece of string from one corner to the other on both sides across the middle, take the loops and tie them together and hot glue it to the top of your rocket then pack the parachute under the cap (nose cone) and fill the bottle one half full of water and you are ready to fly that puppy.

                                   Good Luck and Happy Flying!

                                         Sincerely, Billy Studley
