LAKE BLUFF SKATE PARK
This is a fairly decent park, it has some interesting features that make it a little different from other ramp parks.

So lets start out with what is good about the park. First the miniramps, there are 2 ramps. A ramp is a ramp unless there is really something messed up so they have a 6 footer that is right next a 5 footer but what is cool is there is a gap a couple of feet wide which you can transfer over. There is also a rail connecting the 5' to the 6' so you can also do grind transfers. The 5' ramp also has an escalator that goes down to a 4' ramp for the beginners. They only thing I didn't like was that on the 4' ramp there didn't seem to be enough flat bottom for me. I found my self down and up the other side before I was ready. That is just me I am a little slower then I used to be.

The rest of the park has the same little spines, pyramids and grindboxs with a couple of other cool things. First the set up, one side has 1/4's the other has roll-ins and banks with the boxes and pyramids in between. What is cool is that some of the banks have a vert wall at the end, and some of the 1/4's on the other end are angled so they kind of make hips with little gaps you can get air over. So that is about it for the cool stuff, check the pics to get a better idea of what I mean.

Some of the bad things. Parking,  the skate park is behind a large building which I guess is the Park & Rec Building, there is also a golf course here. The parking lot is pretty big and if you go all the way to the end of the lot, on the right you will see a sign that says something like Skate Park Entrance. You drive up a gravel road only to find No Parking Signs. So dont even bother to drive up there cause you can't park. All of this would be no problem except that the road is gravel and if it is spring like it was when I was here you will have to walk up the muddy road to get to the park.

Another thing about the gravel is it is everywhere. There is gravel on one side of the park that ends up on the skating area. My wheels found a bit of gravel and I found myself on the ground wondering what the hell happened real fast. Other then that there are no problems that I found on my short visit here except one thing they have that looks like a camel hump. I coundn't get over this thing, it was much steeper then I thought and the humps seemed too close together. After I got over one I would just get pitched off of my deck before I could get over the other. A couple of locals told me not too many people make it over, a lot of them just get hurt. There is also a lot of bike tracks, so look out for bikes.

This park is off of Washington Ave, which is one street north of 176 on Greenbay Rd.
