Jamie and David won their first international medal together at their first competition together after being together for less than 6 months. They won a bronze medal at Skate Canada in the fall of 1998 beating skaters who had been together for many years. They had to withdraw from the Four Continents competition and the World Championships.

They ended their season with a 4th place finish at the World Championships in Nice, France.
