"You'll have to go without me," you tell Vik-
torov. "I'm not leaving Bill." Viktorov shuffles
away and climbs back up the chimney. Bill falls
into a deep sleep even before Viktorov says good-
bye.
It's mid-afternoon before Bill stirs and opens his
eyes. "How's it going, old buddy?" he says weakly.
"I'm fine," you say. "But what about you?"
"Still breathing. And the old heart's beating. Did
Viktorov leave?"
   "Yes."
"Good. I don't trust him. I'm glad you stayed."
"So what can we do now?" you say. "You're
definitely out of action for a while."
"Yeah, I know. That means the Omicron mis-
sion is up to you. I'm sorry, but we have no choice.
Can you handle it?"
You nod slowly, not sure that you can. "I'll try."
"You'll do fine," he says. "What you have to do is
go look around the Omicron base and find out
what we are up against. We know very little about
the Omicron leader- especially about this man
Marcus. Find out what you can about him and the
others, and try to discover their plans and weak-
nesses. Do you think you can do that?
Once again you nod your head slowy.
"This I know for sure. The Omicron Masters are
overconfident. They believe they are totally secure
here on the island. They may be right about that.
But if they are wrong, then we have a little hope.
"Meanwhile take a look at this map of Bounty
Island."
