Transition Curves
These are obviously not elyptical transitions which get steeper as you go up the ramp.  That's not what I used, and I don't know how to make them.  Circular transitions work fine.
This drawing shows the different steepnesses of the transitions. It shows ranges from 5' (steep) to 7 1/2' (mellow) transitions.  The bigger the transition, the shallower the ramp will be.

Five feet is very steep so I would recommend usning a 6 1/2' to 7' transition for your halfpipe if you are a beginner...if you want it a little steeper try 6' transitions.
6 1/2'-7' transitions are Pretty much standard for ramps 4' and under...maybe a little steeper if you are more advanced.  For ramps 5' and taller you may use bigger transitions.

This drawing also shows the different heights of the ramps (3' and 4') You can print these off and cut them out if all of those lines are confusing you.  Just pick which one you would like for your ramp.

Don't just limit yourself to these transitions shown. You can use 8' transitions if you want.  It is up to  you....my compass just wouldn't draw that big.  It only did up to 7 1/2' transitions but this is just to give you an idea of the transitions.
