Now if your ramp has enough platform space on the banks right now, then you won't have to do this step, but if you want to stand comfortably on your ramp while others are doing tricks then you will want to build a platform.
My platform is altogether 30" (2 1/2 feet) wide.
It leaves just enough room for people to do tricks on the coping without running into you. If you need to you can get by with a 2 foot wide platform but I wouldn't go for anything less than that. Ideally I would have made it 3-4 feet wide ,but when you don't have room that is a waste.
