Girl Falls in Puddle, Missing Family Dinner
July 19, 1996 Farmingdale, NY- Sonal Bhatnagar 11, fell into a puddle outside a restaurant where her family celebrated her cousin’s birthday. She was attempting to jump over the puddle, but slipped ruining her white shorts and was unable to join her family during dinner.
Shashita Kumar, her aunt said, “I couldn’t believe it , my friend and I told her not to jump into the puddle, so she tried to get around what we said, that is just like her.”
Sumru Kumar, Sonal cousin stated, “She has always been like this, I also told her not to do anything stupid, but she does things without thinking, and was probably trying to prove me wrong. We spent over an hour trying to dry her shorts with a bathroom hand dryer. I doubt she will try to do that ever again.”
Although it was July, the rain several days before was heavy causing the puddles to still be around. The puddle was in a pot hole full of dirt from the past several days, which also got on her shorts.
