Vernetta Ethyl Fisher by Nellie Pleser

Born to Lorenzo Dow and Sarah Angeline Fisher on June 22, 1908 in Arkansas.   She married Carl Hubbard in 1925 and later to Tilford Hedgepeth until his death.   Later married William Lee.   He had two lovely children who nine and eleven years old and who she raised as her own.   She loved and cherished them.   William also died and left her a widow once more.

During all this time she was a beautician.   She loved people and stayed late to accommodate everyone who needed her.

She bought real estate and rented out apartments to support herself and as a means of acquiring money which she would give away and for which she was well known.   This would include items such as an organ which she donated to the church.   She made quilts and gave them to all her relatives and non-relatives, she claimed them all.

She moved from Kansas City, MO to Liberty, MO to care for her mother for several years.   Later, her health failed from overwork.   She moved to West Mineral, KS   where she lived until she moved into a nursing home in Harrisonville, MO for four years until her death on August 27, 1999.
