Palmer's
Point is a great spot for three things: 1. Sunsets: This is one of the
best places in the park to see a pure, unobstructed sunset from. It's
also nice in that you can simply drive to its parking lot, get out of
your car, and see the sunset. You don't have to walk anywhere if you
don't want to. 2. Tide pooling. Palmer's Point has the best
tide pooling around, so I've been told. Head down there on a day
when the tide is extremely low and you'll be able search in places that
water usually covers.
Be
advised, the trail down is evil. 3. Golfing: For a little fun, take a
pitching wedge to the Palmer's Point Meadow for some three-flies-up. For
added adventure, climb out the the very point of Palmer's with a driver
and tee it up from the western-most point at Patrick's Point. Whatever
you decide to do, Palmer's Point is a must see location. For added fun,
take hikes there by way of the rim trail or long bike rides without
using the short-cut through the Ranger Station. You'll end going to
Palmers once. |
