Arlington Raceway
Overall I was very happy with the run we had in 2003, as you can see below we finished the season with a 6th place overall finish in points and nabbed our first feature win with 3 heat wins.
Like every season it had its ups and downs. With this being our first full season, it was our rookie points year. For the first half of the season we were in contention for the top rookie spot, but a mid season damage spree put a halt to that. We had a string of impressive weeks in mid August that showed some serious competitive edge on our part. Three weeks in a row we were in the top 4. Then the highlight of the season of course was that dream of every rookie, and that first feature win. We accomplished that on Sept. 20th Both my wife, Tammy and son, Conner were at the track that night so that made it extra special.
For the 2004 season, unfortunately we won't be able to make a points run of any sort due to a couple of weddings we will be in. That really may be a blessing in disguise. We plan to start the season at Fairmont Raceway. After that the season holds no boundary. I want to experiance as many different local tracks that I can this season. I am also looking to run a couple different specials that are local. A couple of the tracks we look to attend are; Fairmont Raceway, Redwood Speedway, Arlington Raceway, Jackson Speedway, and we are gonna make our best effort to do one week down at Boone, Iowa. For those that aren't familiar, Boone is where the hold Supernationals at the end of the season. Its kind of the superbowl of dirt track racing. We would like to get a week of racing down there to see how competitive we would be, and possibly attend Supernationals.
With that we have made improvements to the car for the 2004, and look to be stronger and more consistent. I hope for those that are interested, you can make a race and see us in action. |
