Unless you had a relative in the Air National Guard or Air Force Reserve, chances are you’ve never seen this particular photograph of the full-size viper mockup. This was published in The Air Reservist in April 1980 and shows the viper, with its Galactica 1980 two-seater cockpit modification, at Van Nuys ANGB California. On the tail is the Air National Guard’s familiar Minuteman emblem; in the cockpit is Major Manuel Macias, maintenance officer for the 146th Tactical Airlift Wing.
