MIAC soccer honor

Macalester's Jennie Haire, a senior from Burnsville, is the MIAC women's soccer player of the year. Haire, considered the best defender ever to play for the Scots' women's soccer program, led Macalester to a 13-5-2 overall record. The Scots gave up only 13 goals despite playing one of the nation's most difficult Division III schedules. Joining Haire on the All-MIAC team were three teammates -senior forward Nikki Epperson, sophomore forward Brook Epperson and senior midfielder Jennifer Opdyke. Macalester's John Leaney and Augsburg's Scott Hansing were named MIAC co-coaches of the year.
