| I've been a bad girl and haven't posted a thing in nearly a week. Saturday we returned to the Mennonite sale and Stanley participated in the children's auction. He was successful at three of his attempts. I bid successfully at the silent auction for a jar full of old-fashioned candy. Kurtis won a stuffed dog that is bigger than him at the carnival games. I guess this means we are all looking forward to next year. Afterwards we came home and went swimming. Sunday was church. After church we came home and swam because it was still nice and hot. We put together the desk which required a bit of remaneuvering of furniture from the office and school room. Now we have the desk set up in the school room. We moved the boys' old computer desk into the office and our huge table from the office into the garage. I thought that was ideal because you know we just don't have enough things in our garage already. *sigh* Monday proved to be a most interesting day. There was a congregational meeting which Stanley and I attended because Stan thought he may as well stay home with the babies since he was up for a vote for deacon. At the church in Anaheim the people who were up for votes had to leave (at least that's how we remember it...it's been a while). So, at any rate, Stan is now a deacon. This was definitely a surprise. It took me a while to convince Stan that I was not pulling his leg. Tuesday was more normal. We went to the library but only to return the final overdue/lost book. When we arrived we discovered that we'd better take the Civic if we want to park. the lot is mostly closed off now due to the construction of the new library. Today I took K to a Gymboree class. I was disappointed. I was expecting a more "parent and me" type class and a whole lot more involvement of the teacher. I think I'll just take him to the park. He'll get all of what I was hoping he'd get out of the class only we won't have the added cost. We'll just file it under "your tax dollars at work." Of course, living in Ontario we could just file it under "traveller's tax dollars at work." The big news of today was that we finally broke down and cut Louis' hair. I know it's hard to believe from the pictures but he was not upset the entire time. When we were filming him getting his hair cut he was fine. He just didn't like the picture taking part I guess. |
