| Had to shop today. I hate shopping but was hoping this outing would at least be nice in that we found a Wiggles video at the thrift store last night and we were going to go back to buy it. The store was closed by the time we left on Thursday night so we couldn't get it then. Sadly, by the time we arrived the video was gone. :-( We looked around but our thrift store is a bit on the pricey end for things we need (namely furniture and baby things) so while I found a nice coffee table and an even nicer end table/magazine rack I was not about to pay the price they want for furniture that is used and needs to be refinished. You can buy new for less. I wonder if they ever sell any furniture there. I saw a tv stand that we actually used to have. They want $20 for it. I laugh everytime I see that. It wasn't worth $20 new. Even their toys are pricey. They had some very well used dump trucks for $7 and some plastic ones for $6. When you can buy new for about the same price or less elsewhere why would you buy there? Where they win out is their books and, sometimes, their clothes. If you were a guy you could get some great clothes. They have suits for $15. I did find one good buy. When I went to look at the double strollers I found a Black & Decker toaster oven shield for mounting our toaster oven under the cabinet. I hope it fits. After missing out on the Wiggles video I went ahead and bought it. | |||||||||||
