Jae Hwa's Homepage
Introduction
My name is Jae Hwa Shim, and I'm from South Korea, the country where 2002 World Cup was held with Japan. I used to live in Seoul, but my family moved to Bung-dang, and my parents live in Bung-dang right now. I am 25 years old and, I served in the army from September 1997 till November 1999. Back in Korea, I went to Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. I'm a senior, and I have one semester left. My major is Trade, and my minor is English.
Salt Lake City
This is my third time in America, but it is my first time in Utah. My first impression of Salt Lake City was quiet and peaceful. I've only been here for two weeks, so I hope there's lot of exciting things to find out in Salt Lake City.
Family
Currently, my parents are in Korea. My father used to work at a construction company for about 30 years. Because of my father's job, I used to live in Saudi Arabia for about 5 years when I was young. Now my father works at a construction consulting company. My mother is a house wife, and she loves me and my brother a lot. Finally, I have a older brother, and he lives in Los Angeles, California. He's going to get married on October 12, so I'll be flying back to L.A after this session.
My interests
I like sports very much. I'm not trying to brag about myself, but I'm actually pretty good at most of the sports, except for basketball and soccer. I especially like tennis and baseball, the most and you can guess that I'm good. I like to go snow boarding in winter, and I'm very thrilled about the ski resorts in Salt Lake City. My another interest is traveling. I don't like to go to a lot of different places, but when I decide to go somewhere, I like to look around and meet new people.
In the future
I'm planning to stay in the United States just for one year, so I want to make the best out of it while I'm studying here. I hope to transfer to University of Utah and study Business. After one year, I'll go back to Korea, and I'll finish school and hopefully get a job, but that's not my final goal. After about two years of experience in the field, I want to come to the United States and study for an MBA.
