MARCH 27th -  28th 2004
Our trip to the United States Capital took place at the beginning of the National Cherry Blossom Festival a citywide event from March 27, 2004 - April 11, 2004.  This festival celebrates of the original gift of the 3,000   cherry trees by the city of Tokyo to the people of Washington, DC in 1912.   In the debatable opinion of those who've been it is the time of year when DC is most beautiful. We agree with this opinion.  It  was a time to forge new friendships and to strengthen old ones.
