Hit one for Max!
Any home run hitters out there who want another chance to mash a few before the season's over? How about helping out with a great casue too! Adam Storey (playing with Kings Way Assembly) is organizing a fundraising HR Derby on Friday, September 29 at Forest Hills (Charlie O'Brien Field), starting at 7pm. Registration is only $10 per person, with proceeds going to help out Max, a 3-year-old who will be travelling to the IWK Hospital in Halifax for heart surgery. Contact Adam for more info at: 849-3991 (home) or 644-9428 (cel). This is open to anyone who finds out about it - make sure you register early to guarantee your spot.

On Friday, June 16 (June 23 if we get rained out...), the Vineyard ball team will be hosting a fundraising barbecue - proceeds to go towards a team purchase. Hotdogs, hamburgers, sausage and Graham's smiling face are on the menu, and the grill will be open starting at 6pm.

Hey everyone - it's finally up! The complete schedule (less playoffs & AllStar Game) is now up, and the individual team pages will be updated shortly.
Posted February 20...
Hey folks, it's almost the end of February - time to start recruiting those players for the 2006 season! It hardly seems like it given the warm temps & lack of snow we've had so far. There are a few notes to pass on here right now...
1: The Fall wrapup meeting did indeed occur - thanks again to Reg Sutton for hosting the meeting at Saint John Vineyard. Minutes from the meeting (Adobe Acrobat document, 32kb) can now be downloaded - sorry for the delay.
2: If anyone would like to volunteer a room to have the next league meeting in, please let Eric Sabean or Vance Crozier know. No date has been set yet.
3: As some of you may have already heard, we will indeed be playing on different fields this year. Allison Grounds is on the renovation list for this summer. The City will have more info sent along to us before it is time to commit to certain fields. In the meantime, we have been invited to the Town of Quispamsis field user's meeting. Apparently Walter Jewett Field is vacant on Saturdays this coming season. I don't have any pricing info yet, but any feedback on playing Saturdays in the Valley would be welcome.
4: Website revisions! You'll notice on the menu that RESOURCES has replaced LINKS. The links are still there of course, but this is becoming something of an archive for other info as well. And, for those who've been itching to play since last September, there is also a flash-based batting-cage simulator found there. If anyone hits a homerun, let me know - I have yet to master this one. Funny how accurate these games are sometimes! |
