BMR
Total energy measured in kilojoules (KJ) or kilocalories (C)          -        1 C  =  4.8 KJ
Total energy needed by an individual depends on:
your age:
your sex:
your lifestyle:
How much energy do foods give?
1 gram of carbohydrate 17.1 KJ
1 gram of protein 18.2 KJ
1 gram of fat 38.9 KJ
Over twice the calories in a gram of fat than in a gram of protein or carbhydrate !!
Very easy to eat more fat than you need for energy.  THE RESULT?   You put on body fat !
