To Travel Sky Lake

by Nam Yoo-Joo

This book was written by Korean author Ru Si-hwa, who loves to trip to India, is about India and Indian. When I first read To Travel Sky Lake, I could love India and Ru Si-hwa. So I read his book again, I wanted to go to India and travel there. This is his travel diary about traveling around India and meeting many Indians. In reading the stories, I think India to be very interesting world and a very holy place. I could feel the hope to purify, ones self.

In his travels to India, Ru Si-haw met many people and found Indians to be very kind and simple and honest. Also India is amusing spot that is very dirty and holy. My favorite story, in his book, is Wonderful music in the morning. That story started that Si-hwa went to India and bought the Indian native flute. When he took out money to pay off the bill, he took a lot of money which is 10 times as much as the flute value. The merchant caught a bill and said thinks. Si-hwa thought he charged high, but he didnt care about that because this event showed character of Indian. And then he was on his way to his hotel. But next day when he woke up, he could heard the music that played a flute. He surprised that the player is the merchant. The merchant said he paid a lot; so the merchant thought to return this favor. For that reason he came to play the flute every morning until Ru Si-hwa left that city. The flute sound was very sweet and fascinating.

I think Si-hwa likes India because Indian is different from many other people. Indians, who are in his book, has many things that which any other people cannot belong. Each of them is a saint. One of Indian said The person, whose eyes dont have tears, has his rainbow in his spirit. In our society, human nature is more and more decreased and divest of human qualities. But this book and Ru Si-hwa taught us about Indians life of candid and their warm heart. So this book is taught me that I have my owned tears and my soul has owned rainbow, either.
