Some comments about the
2002 Reunion

from Gail

"Our Sizzling Reunion"

All I can say is, we had a blast! Twenty-four folks came and I think everyone enjoyed themselves. We laughed and reminisced and it was great! Eleven of the 24 went all the way back to grammar school together and provided some unbelievable memories of those days! Bobby Nehira, who lives in Washington and was unable to attend, called and chatted with all of us!

We especially appreciated Martha's husband, Art R.'s wife, Ed's wife and Art K.'s wife for being so great and helping out with the food and picture taking. The food was super, as was all the help!

I hope others will send their memories of yesterday to Art R. to include on the site. I got an email from Rebecca early this morning, saying everything turned out so well, we should do it annually! That Rebecca is KNOWN for her GREAT IDEAS!!!! So, that's a plan, and hopefully next July, about the same time, you can all return for another get-together!!!

All I can say is, it was just great seeing everyone and talking over old and new times! I really, truly believe we are an exceptional bunch of people to have the relationship we have with each other, that has never changed over all these years!!!

God bless all of you!!!!

from Art Kess (Kauffman back in l957)

On the 3 hour drive from Reno to Gail's house, I was both excited and the closer we got to the party-site, the more nervous I became. 45 years is a very long time between seeing one another, and I was somewhat concerned about remembering names and faces.

Then there was the inevitable few minutes (seconds really) of starring down former classmates. Once that occurred, and handshakes and hugs were exchanged the feelings turned to relaxation and the fun of renewing "old" acquaintances.

There was a very good feel to the entire event. Being quite the sports-fan, I related that kind of feeling to the chemistry on a good sports team (like my senior softball team--we don't win often, but we have a great time being together)!

The proof of the success of our day together was the news I had upon returing to Reno and finding out that this will become an annual event -- thanks in advance Al Takata for next July 12th.

I'd love to host our 50th (2007) "sizzler" here in Reno--perhaps during Hot August Nights--a very famous annual event here in the Biggest Little City, with heavy emphasis on the 50's and rockin and rollin" kinds of events. Please let me know if this has any appeal so we can start the wheels in motion early-on.

It was really special seeing all those there and I look forward to seeing all of you and hopefully many who could not attend this years event.

Health, hope, and happiness to you all
