The Morehead Fire Dept . is located in Eastern Kentucky  in Rowan County serving the city or Morehead, KY. Morehead Fire Dept was  founded in 1926. Morehead Fire Department is an department based on dedication and hard work to better serve the community. Our Department is comprised of  paid chief and volunteer firefighters, although  we do receive money for runs that are made within the city limits of Morehead.  This department provides all of the following services Firefighting, Hazardous Material Response, Vehicle Rescue (Extrication), Search & Rescue, Dive team, Medical Response and Other Technical/Specialized Rescue.

Our primary response areas consist of the following locations ,City of Morehead, Morehead State University, Two Industrial Areas, 12 miles of I-64, 15 miles of KY Route 32, 10 miles of US 60, Numerous City and County Roads, this area is comprised of  an estimated 14,000 people. We Also Provide Mutual Aid To Other Agencies Within Rowan County, As Well As Agencies Outside Of Rowan County.
