This is our 1964 Dodge Polara 500.  This particular car came from the factory with a 318 Polyspherical head (little brother to the Hemi design), a console shifted 727 TorqueFlight automatic transmission, and a 2.76:1 SureGrip rear end (741 casting).

I bought this car in the summer of 2003 on, of all places, Kodiak Island, Alaska.  Dang near stole it from the guy, he sold it to me for cheap.  Of course, the engine didn't run, but it had been driven in the past.  "Maybe just a spun bearing or two - I ran it with low oil pressure."  - DUMBASS!

The 318 Poly that was in it had been rebuilt once before, back in 1985 or so.  I liked the uniqueness of the engine, so I decided to keep and rebuild it.  It already had a 4-barrel intake manifold and carb on it, which was a nice improvement from the stock 2-barrel setup.

Fred Waltman is the guy helping me out..."my mechanic", if you will.  He owns his own business - WinterRaven4x4, here on Kodiak.  This guy knows his stuff...you should see all the trophies he has for running big-block Chrysler stock cars here in Alaska!
But guys, what are you doing to the car right now, and what's the engine gonna be???  Click here to find out...
Take me back to the garage...
