This is my first really good picture of Diocletian Astreth, a.k.a. Dea the Red. Unlike Suicide, whose character portrait has been in my head since day one, Dio was always difficult for me to visualize; given that she and I share some physical traits and personality quirks, I was always wary of making her a Mary Sue, and as such went out of my way not to draw her. But I finally managed to get something down on paper, and I think this came out pretty well.

This is actually Diocletian as she appears in my upcoming PPC interlude, "Dio vs. Dea." In my series of missions, Dio was hospitalized with severe post-Narnia-Sue trauma and Bursar Disease; the Interlude will take place inside her head, as her current personality fights her original Sue personality of Valar-Sue Dea the Red. The bone of contention? Suicide, who as an attractive, deadly male canon is a natural target for Dio's Sue half. This picture shows Diocletian at the conclusion of the battle, which takes place in a fictionalized Thermopylae- she holds the branch she grabbed as a weapon, and isn't in a very good condition.
