In developing this site, I felt that getting the data on line was the most important factor. Second was data accuracy and third was format. Because I had not built a web site before, I had to learn on the run.

You have probably seen several question marks sprinkled through out the sentances. This is caused by one system not trying to understand an other. Will eventially find all the system glitches and typo's and replace with html.

As I read through the different Texas Brigade books, I developed strong opinions. I will write on several as we go along. One is why the South fought. Another is leadership. To spend a lot of time on each is boring, so will move along.

Another favorite subject is the content of the site. God willin' and the creek don't rise, I will add data as long as I can get it. I am looking for a good relative inexpensive source of individual records. In the muster rosters, I would like to add each soldiers individual records. I want to describe each battle from the lowest level, which may not be possible due to a lack of recorded data. I would like to make all the bibliography online readable. This would allow you to read the book or excert's on line. Where possible I will link book where these old books are sold. 

At this time I find very few people who realize they have relatives who fought in the Texas Cavalry Brigade.  There fore I hope to place enough genealogy to allow someone to find their kin, to establish their link for joining the Sons of Confederate Veterans or Daughters  of the Confederacy. In time I will make it easier to join these fine and sometimes exciting organizations. I will also write about these organizations and why they exist. Occasionally I will add data from the vast amount of Southern History that is available.

Having received a degree from Sul Ross State University, I will also discuss him and his other staff members and commanders and some of the soldiers. Of course my kin are number one in my mind.  Let me know how you feel or your concerns.
