Almost every day I discover something new concerning these raids. Mr. Evan's book, Sherman's Horsemen, has some great data. Some of this I will be linking to the site in the near future.
At a site called the Battle of Brown's Mill, is an excellent coverage of all of the McCook Raid and its termination at Brown's Mill and Newman http://www.battleofbrownsmill.org/. Also given are the Brigades actions and those of General Wheeler.
At another site called the Nash Farms Battlefield is underdevelopment the same type information for the Kilpatrick Raid http://www.henrycountybattlefield.com/ . This site is under study now by Dan Elliott an Archaeologist and Historian. They are actually conducting digs to determine each battle site and grave. Again the purpose of this battle field site is the preservation of history.
Both sites are worthy of considerable study, and if you are inclined the contribution of your information and money. Without our money the liberals will destroy our curtural history and heritage.
