SPARK SLEEPOVERS

The 6th Richmond Sparks have had 4 sleepovers in the past 3 years and each has been the best fun ever. We have held all of them at the Guide House here in Richmond so that we are close to home incase of that midnight trek Mommy or Daddy might have to make.

I truly can't remember much of our plans that we did for our Sleepover except that we laughed and danced and stayed up real late with movies and popcorn.

On this page you will find three sleepover outlines

Our March 2000 Sleepover

No real theme just fun!

Girls arrive 6:30pm and get their bedrolls sorted out and ready for sleeping.

We had crafts all laid out and ready to go after setting up their sleeping stuff.

CRAFTS:

Dragon Fly Hat Pins From Saskia (click here)

Dream Catchers (click here)

Photo Magnets (click here)

We has a sing a long, and taught the girls some new songs as well as singing some old favorites.

We did some dancing, I had a tape with all sorts of action moving songs and they loved it.

By this time it was 9:30pm and we had a snack of Pizza, veggies and dip and Popcorn with a Movie. This filled our bellies and settled everyone down.

By the time that the movie was over it was around 11pm and we washed up and tossed them all to bed, let them giggle it out for a bit and then lights out and sleeping time.

MORNING TIME

Girls got up really early, about 6:30am if I recall. We got dressed and rolled up our bed rolls and tidied up the sleeping area. Then down for Breakfast.

Breakfast was Pancakes, Fresh Fruit, Muffins, Juice and Milk.

Oh and LOTS OF COFFEE!

We read some stories and drew some pictures and sang our closing song and Parents were there to pick them up before we were quite done.

June Sleepover 2000

For our End of the year Fling we decided to have another Sleepover as the girls had such a great time at the one in March. Always asking when they were going to do it again. (Again at the Guide House)

This time we had the girls arrive early at 4:00 so that we could have dinner and enjoy the daylight summer hours.

When they arrived we had them set up their bed rolls right away then come downstairs and outside where we had a Croquette game, Ring Toss, Hop Scotch, and Balloon races set up.

After everyone had a chance to participate in everything we had an outside Pizza Picnic for dinner that was donated by the Flying Wedge Pizza Company.

THEN CRAFT TIME:

Rainbow Spark and Brownie mobiles (click here)

Painted Picture Frames (click here)

Then we gave the girls some free time for a while and we set up and got ready for our Mug Up under the stars.

For Mug up we had Hot Chocolate and Smores we made in the microwave.

By this time it was late and it was up to bed and giggle time.

After the girls were all settled down, the leaders came downstairs and did some crafting together. We made Saskia's Friendship knots and beaded butterflies. FUN stuff!

In the morning we had breakfast of mini muffins, pancakes, fruit and milk. And LOTS of coffee. hehehe

It was so beautiful outside that after we cleaned up the bedrolls we went outside to play and sing while we waited for parents to pick up.

DECEMBER 2000 SLEEPOVER

CHRISTMAS THEMED

The Girls Arrived about 6pm and went upstairs and got their bed rolls ready and vied for the best sleeping spots. Each girl was asked to bring a $5 gift wrapped in Christmas paper with no tag attached for a secret Santa gift.

We had everything all ready downstairs for them by the time they were finished.

When they came downstairs from getting their beds rolled out they made Special Angel bags (click here) to hold all their crafts and goodies from the Sleepover in.

Then they moved around to different stations and made the following crafts:

Wine Cork Reindeer (Click here)

Angel Ornaments out of Juice Can Lids (Click here)

Pinecone Santa Ornaments (Click here)

After craft time we had snacks, Pizza (donated by the Flying Wedge Pizza Company) and vegetable trays and Juice.

Then it was singing Time, We sang lots of songs and played some games.

We had a Special visit from Santa Claus planned but unfortunately he failed to show up. (long story behind that one)

The plan was Santa was supposed to come and hand out candy canes and Spark coloring books and each girl was going to have a Polaroid taken with him.

Since that fell through, we read a Christmas story and then each girl place their secret Santa gift that they brought  under the Christmas tree.

Then we cleaned up and hustled upstairs for giggle time and sleep, it was about 10:30pm or so.

In the morning, the girls all got up and rushed downstairs to open their secret Santa gifts, It was so great!

Then we had some breakfast, of Pancakes and fruit and milk. LOTS of Starbucks coffee too.

After breakfast we went upstairs and helped the girls get their things together and then downstairs for some coloring fun while we waited for parents to arrive.

So far this was the best sleepover yet!
