Music Night
Materials:
Wax Paper lots of elastic bands
toilet paper rolls paper towel rolls
paper plates macaroni noodles or rice
stapler crepe paper streamer roll
markers stickers
tape
Activity:
We made Kazoos, Rain makers, and tambourines. Then the girls sang a few songs and made up a parade for us (leaders) to watch. The girls only got to make 1 type of instrument each and they were picked by numbers. So if you were a #1 then you made Kazoos, or whatever.
Kazoos: 1 square of wax paper,1 elastic band, 1 toilet paper roll, markers and stickers to decorate.
Decorate the tp roll with the markers and stickers any way the girls like. Secure with rubber band 1 square of wax paper to one end of the tp roll. Hum into it and your on your way.
Rain makers: small handful of macaroni noodles, 2 elastic bands, 2 squares of wax paper, 1 paper towel roll, makers and stickers.
Decorate the paper towel roll any way they like with markers and stickers. Secure with rubber band 1 square of wax paper onto one end of the paper towel roll. Pour in a small handful of noodles or rice and secure another piece of wax paper onto the open end. Shake for rain making sounds.
Tambourines: 2 paper plates, tape, stapler, macaroni noodles, paper roll, markers and stickers.
Decorate the Bottoms of the paper plates any way you like, Staple the plates together so the bottom sides are out, leaving a hole in the top to pour in a SMALL amount of noodles inside and staple up the rest. Put a rim of tape around the edges of the plates so that no noodles fall out and staples don't scratch. Tape on a few pieces of crepe paper for streamers and your ready to go.
