Dust off your hat and polish those cowboy boots because the Country Star Jamboree has returned to Six Flags Over Georgia for Celebration 2003. Guests of the park can expect a toe-tappin' good time with country-themed special events and concerts by SHeDAISY, John Michael Montgomery, and Neal McCoy.
The Celebration starts with a concert by multi-platinum recording artists SHeDAISY August 30 at 8 p.m. This sizzling trio has serenaded audiences all over the country. Kelsi, Kassidy, and Karli Osborn have released three albums and their hit single "Mine All Mine" was recently featured in the film soundtrack "Sweet Home Alabama".
Country fans are in for a treat when John Michael Montgomery hits the stage September 6. From rock, to honky-tonk, to ballads, his classic country sound has landed eleven number one singles and sold over 15 million albums.

Finally, Six Flags Over Georgia presents Neal McCoy in concert September 13 at 8 p.m. Ever since the release of his debut album in 1990, Neal has been rising to the top of the country charts. He was awarded Entertainer of the Year in 1998 and 1999 at the TNN/Music City News Country Awards. His video "Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye", was awarded video of the year at the 1997 TNN/Music City News County Awards.

All concert events take place in the park's +12,000 capacity venue, the Southern Star Amphitheater. Seats are available on a first-come first-serve basis. Lawn seating is also available. All concerts start at 8 p.m. and are free with park admission.

In addition to the concerts, guests can find old-fashioned craft demonstrations throughout the park like black smiths, pottery artists, quilt makers and more. Other entertainment with a country theme, like clogging and western dance, can be found on the Celebration stage.

Also new this year, guests are invited to play Crusty Pete's Scavenger Hunt. Many life-long guests of Six Flags Over Georgia may recognize Crusty Pete as the obscure miner who has been checking rider height on the Dahlonega Mine Train for 36 years now. Recently he has been out in the park searching for lost gold. If you can help find him, he may share some of his loot with you!

To participate, Scavenger Hunt contestants must spot a specified item in the park, record its location on the provided game card, and turn it in before the nightly prize drawing. Scavenger Hunt is one in a series of five new park-wide games offering nightly prize drawings and chances to win a year-end grand prize.

Country Star Jamboree is part of the new "Celebration" event series at Six Flags Over Georgia. Other events in the series include Party Gras, Atlanta Fest, Salute 2 America, and Fright Fest. Each event in the series is now bigger and better than ever, with additional investment to provide guests with even better Streetmosphere, live music, park-wide games, prizes and giveaways, and much more.

On August 30th the park will host a silent auction for the USO (Unites Service Organizations). Guests of the park may browse the auction items from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Arbor Place Mini Mall near the entrance to the Southern Star Amphitheater. Silent auction items include autographed NASCAR memorabilia, autographed country music memorabilia, and many other items donated by Arbor Place Mall, Six Flags Over Georgia, and other local businesses. Bidding starts promptly at 4 p.m. and ends at 6 p.m. sharp.

Country Star Jamboree takes place weekends August 30 - September 14. Specific dates are August 30-31, September 6-7, and September 13-14. Hours of operation are Saturdays from 10 a.m.-8 p.m., and Sundays from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. General admission is $39.99 for adults and $24.99 for kids 48" and shorter.
