Mini-Nubians                  Nigerians

Here are a few photos of some of my Best Buddies.

What can I say? It's a dog's life, and here at Harmony Hollow they live in style. The acreage is surrounded by forest, so they have the best of all worlds: chasing rabbits, hunting in the woods, lazing near the house, and, best of all for them, their very own "Holey Land" where they can dig to their heart's content.

The Wonder Dog!

Mitzie
Mitzie is a Lhasa Apso that was given to me by someone who didn't want her anymore. She was filthy and full of mats when they handed her to me, and also had apparently been abused. She's getting old now, losing her sight and hearing...

Periwinkle Perry
Periwinkle Perry was a big part of my life for many years. His original owners kept bugging me about this dog they had that was a "rat terrier," and they had to keep him in the bathroom. Well, I didn't want a rat terrier, but finally caved in. The minute he jumped out of their car, I thought to myself, "This is no rat terrier!" and it was pure love from then on.

BoBo
BoBo has been with me for two years, having been picked up on the side of the road, starving. I lured him to me with Fritos, and he's been a happy camper ever since.

Sadie
Mercedes Sadie, as I called her, was a purebred German Shepherd whose parents were working police dogs. However, she'd had a hard life and had lots of psychological problems. I ended up having her put down, but not without a broken heart.

Cleo and Sapphire
Cleo and Sapphire were littermates, found on a curve on a dirt road before they were even weaned. Cleo is no longer with us, but Sapphire, who is my daughter's special cat, is very much the aristocat

PJ
(Periwinkle Junior)grew up with the big dogs, and so thinks he is (a big dog). Now that his "aunties" are gone, he remains lively and playful. His biggest bugaboo is thunderstorms!

Pearl and Minx
Pearl was part pit bull and whatever else. She had a very strong prey drive which eventually got out of hand when she started attacking (and sometimes killing) the animals she grew up with. She was a great snake dog- she would be staggering with the effect of snake poison in her system, but would keep going until she knew the snake was dead. She was great at keeping various harmful critters off the property, and once took on and killed a huge raccoon that left her bloody before she finally killed it. Minx is still with me, and living up to her name. She's teaching the old Siamese lots of naughty tricks.
