Salty Rat Dawgs Camping Weekend

July 13-15, 2001

Manchester State Park

Manchester State Park
"Manchester State Park is a great place to have the camp-out for a large group. It has a group camp that is away from the main camp sites. It has hook-ups, bathrooms, showers, lots of room to run, and a place to cook and eat together.  Julie Klentsch and Cherie Rhoad did a great job in finding this place.

On Saturday it was nice and many folks came for the day. We all had fun both human and furbabies. I got to see my daughter Penny aka Britches, she live with Tracie and her family now. Ma and her really enjoyed seeing each other again.

You always meet so many nice people and dogs at these camp outs. Many of them Ma knew from Anne's BB board, but it really nice to meet them in person.

Sunday came way too soon and we all had to go home. I can't wait until next year." --------Cilla
"Hi, Priscilla here. Since I was the oldest female kid on the trip, Ma said I should do the talking.

First I want to talk about the new trailer Ma bought for us to go camping in. There is a picture of it above when it is folded down. It opens up to 25.9 feet. The gang and I have a big king size bed to put our dens (crates) on. It is really nice and so much better than the tent.

We left to go to Manchester Park at 9:00 am. The reason we left so early was so we could get over the Tacoma Narrow before rush hour when everyone was taking it to go home. This was Ma's first time towing a trailer, and she was a little nervous about it.

When we got to the park they would not let us in, because the person who made the reservation was not there. After Ma and us sat at the gate for 5 hours they let us into the group camp. The picture to the left is of us at the gate waiting to get into the camp site." -----Cilla
