| Shri Ram is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. In the context of Ramayana, Shri Ram represent the self (Atman), Mother Sita represents the Manas, Lord Lakshmana represents the intellect and Lord Hanuman represents the breath. Demon Ravana represents the ten senses of perception and action. So the manas (Sita) which is kidnapped by ten senses ( Ravana) , can unite with the Self ( Lord Rama) with the help of intellect ( Lakshmana) and pranayama ( Hanuman). Lord Hanuman also sets the benchmark for selfless service. |
