The sustaining aspect of God is represented by Lord Vishnu and the sustaining energy by Goddess Lakshmi.
The destructive aspect of God is represented by Lord Shiva and the destructive energy by Goddess Parvati.
They all represent the same God also called as " Brahman"; the substratum of everything and the three energies are called " Maya".
The world is called a play of "Maya".
