You know your scribble is comprehensible only to you.
You know you know because you were told so.
You know your distractions and perversions are what define you.
You know your religion forbids you to believe in yourself.
You know your great, great grandfather’s genes are alive in you.
You know the clock keeps ticking…
You know you don’t know.
You know that no one is really listening.
You know you envy Hitler’s confidence and Bill Gate’s business prowess.
You know what you will buy when you are rich.
You know you wasted your childhood.
You know art is masturbation.
You know your addiction loves you more.
You know that the water drains, the tide recedes and the sun does not rotate.
You know you won’t climb K2 or see Mount Fuji.
You know your childhood is gone.
You know your adulthood is a series of baby steps.
You know you have fallen as many times as you have gotten up.
You know your rent is gone forever.
You know your C.E.O. doesn’t remember your name.
You know your body is a battery slowly losing its strength.
You know a timeline never begins or ends.
You know you owe your parents more money than you make.
You know you are their retirement plan.
You know that once you adopt the accent it is no longer an accent.
You know someone else is wearing your tattoo.
You know a raise means a longer commitment and more responsibility.
You know your first date cannot be done over again.
You know these thoughts are all wrong.
You know the smartest person in the world thinks he is dumb.
You know I asked Jesus for forgiveness and he gave me a job.
You know marriage is a license.
You know all the colors you see are just reflections and combinations of other colors.
You know your birth was unexpected and possibly unwanted.
