Estelle Shepard Beswick-The first Editor of The Quarterly, also a Phi Beta Kappa
Jennie Titus Smith Morris-Our first President(Alpha Chapter), also our first Grand President of the Fraternity.
Georgia Dickover- She served as Editor of The Quarterly, and as Historian of the Fraternity for 18 years. Along with Edith MacConnell Hickok, she compiled some of our Ritual. She was also a wearer of the Cirlce of Epsilon Pi.
Ethel Brown Distin- Our second President, she installed the Beta chapter.
Edith MacConnell Hickok-She wrote several of the early Fraternity songs, also working with Georgia Dickover on some of our Rituals. She was also the mother of the first Alpha Gamma Delta baby!
Flora Knight Mayer- Contributing her knowledge, love and talent for music, Flora Knight Mayer developed many early Fraternity songs and stressed the importance of music in the Ritual.
Mary Louise Snider- Mary Louise Snider was Alpha Gam's first missionary, traveling to Conception College, Conception, Chile under the Board of the Methodist Church.She served there for 13 years, serving as pricipal of the college for part of the time.
Grace Mosher Harter- She was our gracious hostess. Her near-by home in Parish, New York was the scene of many happy Alpha Gamma Delta weekend get-togethers. She also helped to intall the Gamma chapter.
Georgia Otis Chipman- Following her graduation from college, she taught at the Chatham Episcopal Institute in Virginia. She was the first Business Manager of the Quarterly.
Emily Helen Butterfield- Michigan's first woman architect, Emily Helen Butterfield designed Alpha's Chapter house and the buildings for the Alpha Gamma Delta Summer Camp. She also designed and wrote the symbolism for our Armorial Bearings, while also designing bearings for other fraternities, and was recognized as the foremost authority on fraternity heraldry. The PURPOSE of Alpha Gamma Delta, with its illuminated border, is another on of her gifts to the Fraternity. A wearer of the Circle of Epsilon Pi, she was also Editor of the Quarterly for seven years.
