FOR AWHILE

If you mess with my mind  it would be unfair,
for all I want is your tender loving care.
I won't make demands , I won't ask for time,
Except when you're with me......
               be completely mine

I've been up the road, sideways and down
I know the score, for I've been around.
I've been in a mess, seen my world take a spin..
But, you make me feel good.....
               though I know I can't win.

But, if we can just be happy for awhile,
I won't feel bad when you leave....perhaps I'll smile
Knowing we had moments to share,
And the love tears I may cry, I'll cry alone...
               you'll not be here.
