Muay Thai Boxing They say that Thai boxers can take out any fighter from all other forms of martial arts. I don't know whether that is true or not, but these guys are ripped with muscles and can really take a pounding and is considered by experts as the ultimate form of hand to hand fighting. Anything goes in Thai boxing (kicks to the body and face, elbows, punches, etc). Thai boxing begins with a traditional ceremony (dance) in which boxers pay homage to their guru and to the guardian spirit of Thai boxing (khruu).

Chiang Mai, a slightly cooler region in the north of Thailand and not far from the "The Golden Triangle" (borders of Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar) Buddhist Monks are growing in number these days as monastic life has proven to be sort of a social welfare system since every Thai male is expected to become a monk for a short period of his life. Most monks only eat 1 meal a day, before noon, and only from what is provided in their "alms bowl"

Temples, known as "Wats", from Chiang Mai are quite beautiful as well. Many are plated in gold leaf. Well, so many more page to create, but time is short and winter holidays are approaching. I'm still struggling with the language, and occassionaly get lost even in a taxi because they don't understand where I want to go. Work continues to be both challenging and rewarding, but I'm definitely in need of a break. More updates in the coming months. Take care!
