Alaska Photo Page
The Aurora Borealis.  One of the clearest shots I've ever seen!  It was taken by the University of Alaska, with special equipment.
Mt. Edgecumbe as sunset approaches.
The bridge between Baranof Island and Japonski Island.  Sitka is on the Baranof side.  The picture is taken from Japonski.  The eagles like the tree by my truck, and the trees on the approach to the bridge.
Fairbanks in the Winter.  Notice the smoke is drifting, and you can actually see town.  When the ice fog rolls in all the smoke and steam stays right over town.  I think the photo came from the Fairbanks Daily Newsminer.
The sunset behind Mt. Edgecumbe.  Taken from Sandy Beach
This one is a funny/ironic one.  I scanned it from a Berkeley Fishing Line Poster.  Did he/she get away?  My money's on the fish!!!
This from Sandy Beach looking towards the ocean.  I think that is Battery Island sticking up there.  It was a Coast Guard/Navy/Army battery dumping site during and after WWII.  It was cleaned up later with Superfund Environmental Cleanup funding.  The moon just shows in the shot.
Welcome to our Thumbnail Gallery.  We hope you enjoy the photos.  To view a full sized version of any, click the picture with the mouse.  Please check back regularly, we will update as time allows.
Sunset coming, taken from the Harbor Parking lot behind the Forrest Service Building.  Looking out over Thompson Harbor.
Jesse made this drum while attending Sitka High School.  He did it all by himself.
A good panoramic view of Denali (Formerly Mt. Mc Kinley)  I can't remember where I got this for sure.  Either from my Dad, Charles Kingsland, or online, just can't remember for sure.
OK it's not an Alaska Photo.  Mars taken by and posted online by NASA.  Not from the two current landings.  The landing prior, the one they had more difficulty with.  This was taken orbiting the planet, and beamed to earth before descent to the surface.
Taken by Mike Cook.  Somewhere in Sitka.
Also Taken by Mike Cook.  Somewhere in Sitka
Taken by Charles Kingsland, I think from Totem Park.
Portage Glacier outside Anchorage.  Evie's Sister Isabelle took the photo.
The ramp down to Old Thompson Harbor in Sitka.
The head of the ramp to Old Thompson Harbor.  This shows the water tower on Japonski Island.  It was for the hospital, it is now gone.
Refueling somewhere over Alaska.  Photo taken by Gerald England.
