"The elder way is neutrality, to balance the force. You heart will tell you
if you have breached equilibrium" - Nikira Pyui (Mother of Malvar Sabre)
As an academy requirement in the RS, each member is expected to create a biography about their character. This can be as is easy or as long as you want. I wanted my character, Malvar Sabre, to have a fairly detailed history, and so took the "verbose" option. Enjoy!

The Story:
Chapter 1 - Exodus From Sitar
During the early portion of the Emperor's reign of terror, his fleet discovered a small, out of the way planet on the edge of the Outer Rim. This planet was known as Sitar, and was home to the native Elder. The Elder were a new and important discovery for the Empire, due to the fact that they were natural force users, but unusual in the fact that they worshipped and kept to a sense of neutrality that they had found in the force. For every evil act an Elder used the force for, his progress to the Dark Side could be halted if he repented with a good act, and so forth. By keeping the balance, the Elder had found peace in their out of the way world. Unfortunately, the Empire changed this, as it set up bases and structures in which the Emperor attempted to corrupt and subvert the talents of the Elder, to turn the now dominated and terrorised people into weapons to use. Into this fragile situation, a child was born.
Malvar was born the love-child of parents Nikira Pyui (mother) and Stephan Malvar (father). Stephan was a TIE Advanced pilot, stationed on the planet of Sitar for defense against any attacks that parties might throw against the Empire. He had an illicit affair with Nikira Pyui, an Elder woman from one of the main cities on the planet, Ktim. When he learned that Nikira was pregnant, Stephan abandoned her, refusing to talk to her everytime she called at the base, or came looking for him when he visited her city. Time passed, and Nikira gave birth. A whole year went by, but during this time, the planet was building to an implosion
The Emperor finally succeeded in converting a large selection of Elder to the Dark Side, however, he was unprepared for the chaos this would cause. The Dark Elder broke free from their installations, and went looking for blood. Soon, the entire planet was in turmoil, with the Elder fighting the Empire, themselves and everything. The Emperor decided that the risk was to great to try and pacify the whole world now, and so decided to evacuate the world, and then destroy it with orbital bombardment from a close Star Destroyer. During the evacuation, Stephan, running about Ktim helping evacuees, ran into Nikara. He then suddenly had the compulsion to find his son, and take him with him. Little did he know that Nikara had influenced his mind to that effect, in order to save her child from the destruction she knew was imminent. So, Stephan grabbed Malvar, and through titanic effort managed to get a shuttle full of survivors off planet, against the odds that the Dark Eldar had stacked against him.
Fleeing for space, Malvar looked on from the shuttle as the Star Destroyer Diem rained cleansing fire on everything that he would never know. Returning to the relative safety of an Empire base in the Renoat cluster, Malvar began his new life as the son of an ace Imperial pilot.
Chapter 2 - The Caring Empire
Adopted by his father, Malvar took his second name as he took up life with him. Malvar went through Imperial school life fairly uneventfully, a good pupil but not exceptional. It wasn't until the age of fifteen, when given the chance to accompany his father on a scout mission in a customised TIE Defender, that Malvar found his calling. The mission was a recruitment drive for the Imperial TIE corps, a fully holo-cammed and safe scouting exercise that would show father and son at work together in a TIE, thus hoping to boost recruitment in the TIE divisions of the Imperial Navy. It was during the afternoon of the mission that Malvar was allowed to take over the controls, and as he did so, he felt power flow through him. Soon, he was diving, rolling and taking pot shots at asteroids with abandon, much to the amusement of his father who was less than surprised where his ability came from. It was from this day forward that Malvar knew he was to be a pilot.
As soon as he reached 16, Malvar was sat down and his heritage fully explained to him. His father held back no secrets from him, telling all about his abandonment of Malvar's mother, and his part in the orbital bombardment of Sitar. Though Malvar was less than happy about everything that was explained to him, he had spend his whole life with his father, and what else was he to do? Being told these things did help Malvar make sense of a few things however. Firsly, his differences with the other children he knew. He was considerably less developed than them, due to the fact that the Elder mature almost exactly half as slowly as humans, but have a considerably longer lifespan, some even living to 200. Secondly, his exceptional piloting ability. Having been told of the Elder races' force sensitivity, Malvar realised how he been able to occasionally see things before they happened, able to reach out and use his abilities to fine tune his perceptions, to generally be a better pilot. With these things to help him, Malvar joined the Imperial Navy.
Chapter 3 - The Armagosa Incident
Predictably, Malvar sailed through the Imperial Flight academy, and was immediately put to work flying TIE's, transports and all manner of Imperial Craft. He did this for over 20 years, till at the age of 39, his involvement with a particular Imperial project changed his life forever.
At the time, Malvar was stationed on the planet Armagosa, in the Tyrillian sector. Armagosa was home to a secret think tank of scientists, who working for the Empire were tasked with the construction of Super Weapons. One such weapons was a new type of missile known as the "Planetfire". This missile was said by the scientists to have the ability to cleanse whole worlds, while not necessarily destroying them, by sending waves of chemical fire across the surface of the target planet. The Emperor was happy with what the scientists had produced for him, but unfortunately was unhappy with the time it had taken the scientists to come up with this particular weapon. As a result, the order was given that the first two Planet Fire missiles would be used on Armagosa itself, which was evacuated of all but the scientists for the experiment. On the Star Destroyer Leviathan, Malvar was given what would be his final task as an Imperial pilot: he was to fly customised TIE Advanced's with his partner Drek Numbar, and test fire the Planet Fire missiles at Armagosa. Immediately, Malvar began to worry. He had never been asked to destroy a world before, let alone one with people on it! Thinking back to the stories his father had told him about his own past, Malvar remembered Sitar. Could he do what his father had done? Sit idly by and watch a world be destroyed? Malvar decided that this was something he couldn't do.
On schedule, the two TIE's launched, carrying the Planet Fire missiles. However, as the fighters reached the release point, Malvar fired his missile along a random vector, armed his lasers and blasted Drek's fighter until it began to drift, turned and hit hyperspace as he fled, leaving his entire life behind.
Chapter 4 - A Chance Encounter
Selling his TIE Advanced at a seedy spaceport, Malvar purchased transport to Coruscant, where he planned to go into hiding, and did, until four years later his past returned to haunt him
It was a late night on Coruscant when Malvar went out for a drink at a local haunt, the Starfighter Inn. He liked to sit and look at the models of Starfighters that the bartender constructed in his spare time, and hung throughout the bar for decoration. He had been in hiding for over four years, working as a freelance atmospheric cargo pilot, shifting cargo from large ships in orbit down to the surface of Coruscant. Many things had happened during this time, but he had led a fairly anonymous life. Sitting at the bar, drinking his Lomin ale, Malvar slowly turned as a new patron entered the bar. Instantly, he recognised the face, and drew his blaster. It was Drek, retired from the Imperial Navy and visiting Coruscant. Whether Drek was there to cause trouble, Malvar would never know, but the Stormtrooper detachment who were coming off duty and walking through the door with Drek obviously were, as they gave fire in the response to Malvar's held blaster. Soon, the bar was ablaze, and Malvar got away lightly (in his opinion) with burns to his chest and legs. Abandoning Coruscant, Malvar though deeply about one of the ideas he had a long time ago, a deep rooted thing that had sat in his mind for many a year. It would mean he could go back to doing what he truly did best, and hopefully keep him in neutrality, something that he wished he could do. For Malvar, pirates were not an option, he could not fly with people he didn't trust. Finally, Malvar made his decision. It was time to join the Rebellion.
Chapter 5 - A New Beginning?
After several months, Malvar found and was accepted into the Rebellion. After a few more months, and copious debriefings on his time with the Empire, Malvar was accepted into the academy of one of the Rebel's most prized fleets: the IBG, or Intrepid Battle Group. Assigned to Major C.J. Savage, Malvar looked forward to starting his career in earnest. Sitting one night, at the beginning of his IBG Academy requirements, Malvar picked up a datapad, turned the record function on and begin to dictate:
"My name is Malvar Sabre. This is my story, for those who care to listen. It all begins 45 years ago, on the planet Sitar."
