Lakeland Phyciatric Hospital
Location:  Off of County House Rd. Behind the CCFM's Office, in the Lakeland Complex, Camden County, NJ.
Lakeland in itself is nothing to be affraid of, from the outside it looks aww inspiring.  Loming over the small creek that runs below its long covered walk way and passage.  But inside the story takes a drastic turn.  Two words sum up lakeland the best, PHYCIATRIC HOSPITAL.  Those two words cause more people to dare to enter the large building.  Knowing that at any moment there could be a light from outside and the words "Come out now."  Could possibly be heard from the complexs own police force.  But one day after accidentaly coming across lakeland I took that dare.  It was a cold dark night, when myself and a friend of mine took the 45 minute ride to Lakeland.  We arrived at about 10:30 p.m. and didn't waste much time on finding a way in.  We had found a way to get into the long walkway that leads into the  main building.  What made it much different from all the other places I have been to, was that almost everything was left behind.  In the walk threw the hallway I saw more desks, and filing cabinets than I have ever seen in school.  We soon came out of the hallway and into a large lobby, that had a large dome at the roof.  And in the middle of that room was bed after bed floded up and looked in pretty good condition. It was like stepping into a novel.  There were three hallways, one dirrectly in front of us, one to the left and one to the right.  We went right passing a lot of patient rooms, which were only about the size of a small, bathroom.  Only enough room for a bed, and a dresser.  But each room did have a window.  We came to the end of the hallway and headed up the stairwell to the third floor.  And headed down that hallway until we found another stair way going up. It took us into the attic.  The attic is where the heating system was and it was huge.  We walked the entire roof and found where the dome was.  There was also a ladder that went up, climbing the ladder and being dive bombed by some bats, we went onto the roof, and we could see the entire area.  After looking around for a bit, we headed back down the ladder and back to the third floor.  The rest of the building comprised of a lot of patient rooms, and a few doctors offices, and a few nurse stations.  But the basement or sub level was pretty interesting.  That is were all the activities were.  There was a garden room, a wood shop, metals shop, and even a game/day room.  After that we decided to leave and call it a night.  Lakeland was one of the most interesting places I have been, and I do plan on adding some pics very soon.  So stay tuned....
