This site is dedicated to the research and study of the Romanov family. It is my hope to provide links and information to serve as a clearinghouse and resource for those interested in the Romanovs. Although significant volumes of information are available on high profile members of the Romanov family, I am interested in and pursue knowledge of all the members of the family from Mikhail I through the present descendants represented throughout the world in quiet anonymity and European royal families.
|
I welcome any information you would like to share regarding the various members of the Romanov family and encourage email correspondence with questions or Romanov topics you would like to discuss. I am also working on a comprehensive family tree of the Romanovs from Mikhail I to present through all direct lineages of the family including crossover into other royal houses. My Romanov Family Tree currently includes over 1,730 individuals. I hope you enjoy your visit to my site and find it interesting, educational and fascinating. God Save the Tsar!

The Romanov Family has always consisted of individuals with very distinct and very fascinating lives. The family is a melting pot of individuals representing a variety of personalities. Some were born leaders, others content to sit on the sidelines. There were artists, historians, military heroes, and poets. There were those dedicated to their families and others dedicated to court life and social intrigues. No matter the personality or traits of the individual, as members of the Imperial Family, they bore and obligation to serve their Tsar and their country, regardless of personal desires. The Tsar, as head of the family, country and church, was the determining factor in how one's life progressed. This site will always be growing and expanding to provide information and insight on members of the Royal Family. To start your journey, select a ruler to learn about or check for a web site by name in the Romanov Appendix for these pages.
Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna, was born Princess of Hesse-Darmstadt, daughter of Princess Alice of Great Britain and Grand Duke Louis IV of Hesse-Darmstadt. A favored grand-daughter of Queen Victoria, she was considered without doubt the most beautiful princess in Europe. After her marriage to Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovich, Elizabeth grew to love her new adopted country and devoted herself to her country, husband and the imperial family. After the death of her husband, she devoted herself to her newly founded nunnery and a life of charity and assistance to the poor. She was called the little mother of Moscow and was one of the most beloved members of the imperial family. Considered a saint in her day, she was later canonized and is known as the Martyr-Saint Elizabeth. She was murdered after the revolution with other relatives on the same day as her sister, Empress Alexandra.

This page is intended to give information on specific individuals and descendants of the Romanov Family of Russia, regardless of overlapping in other Royal European houses. I have tried where possible to provide complete genealogical information as well as interesting links to web sites and books about the individual. I have also given information about that individual as I believe it to be through my research. Feel free to email me with corrections, comments, suggestions and information to [email protected].
